The deadline for submittal of drivers picks for the first race of the season is Sunday, February 20th, 12:30 p.m. Eastern time.

Any and all who post on the racing-forums.com board are welcome to participate in this hotly contested game.

Participants will be challenged to halt the attempt by @Snappy D to become a three-time champion by winning back-to-back championships.

Game rules can be found in the first post of this thread:

FYI

Game management, being the benevolent dictatorship that it is, has extended the deadline for submittal of driver picks to 1:30 p.m. Eastern time.

The NASCAR Cup Series returns to action with running of the Great American Race at Daytona International Speedway and with it the NASCAR Pick 'Em game is back for the ninth consecutive year.

The most popular pick for the first race of the season is Greg Biffle, back behind the wheel of a Cup car for the first time since 2016. The Biff was selected by 12 players.

Noah Gragson was the second most popular pick, selected by 3 players.
Good luck to all and thanks for participating.

Tried something different this year. Don’t blame anyone for using the Biff or someone not “predicted” to contend, cause this race is NUTS! So I‘m riding with Wreckin‘ Ricky who is hungry and a good plate racer (unless he wrecks someone or himself) :)

I almost went with Ricky myself

I would have had a strong finish from Stenhouse, but alas, like so many others, wrecked by the push-wobble. Mr. Ed really needs a bridle in his mouth, with someone to say “Whoa“ when he‘s too aggressive too early.

The NASCAR Cup Series opened the 2022 season on the 85th birthday of racing legend Roger Penske with the running of the Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway, won by Team Penske driver Austin Cindric.

Congrats to game regular @acmerocket, and game newcomer @Old 97, who shared the "Highest Finishing Pick" award with their choice of fourth place finisher Ryan Blaney.

Following the 36th place finish of Greg Biffle, the twelve players that selected him find themselves only 5 points ahead of anyone who missed making a pick for the first race, as second race game entries will be awarded 41 points for the 500.

Could be worse, as only @aunty dive can attest to.

Me and @Mr Excitement spent just about all of last season in the basement together and now we’re starting off with the only ones with Ragan, this oughta be good lol
As it turned out, Ragan was an excellent pick. P8 in a Rick Ware entry is probably the best pick of the week, IMO. I was tempted by this pick but was scared off by the car's lack of speed in qualifying. I figured the #15 car would lose the draft and fall multiple laps off the pace. It was an opportunity, and I missed it.
