I have 11 A & B drivers left with 12 races to go. I'm still not sure what strategy I'm going to use. I'm aiming for a top 10 finish in points, with top 5 a distant possibility. The guys at the top of the standings this year have been top notch when it comes to picking drivers.

So are we all picking Cha…. Chase… Chase Elliot this weekend?

PUBLIC NOTICE:

Due to a prior commitment by game management, driver picks for the Watkins Glen race might possibly not be posted on race day afternoon until sometime after the start of the race.

In the event of that possibility, @pjmolo's driver pick for Watkins Glen is AJ Allmendinger. :puffin:

EXTRA - EXTRA - READ ALL ABOUT IT - CHAMPIONSHIP IMPLICATIONS INVOLVED !!!

Following a severe case of brain cramps that apparently afflicted two players occupying top five positions in the standings, those two players each picked a driver for the Watkins Glen race that they had used previously.

Because the drivers they picked are INELIGIBLE to be used a second time, by rule those players "will be awarded points equal to the number of drivers that started the race, plus one."

Congratulations to @dirtfan for taking the "Highest Finishing Pick" award following the second place finish of his pick, Denny Hamlin, in the Go Bowling at the Glen at Watkins Glen International.

The top spot in the standings remained unchanged as @RayinTX used the fourth place finish of his pick, AJ Allmendinger, to maintain his hold on that spot for the third consecutive race.

The players previously in the fourth and fifth positions in the standings, @Mr Excitement and @Conover, each took a sizable hit when the drivers they picked were ruled to be "INELIGIBLE" due to the fact that the drivers had been used by those players earlier in the season.

The "Most Upward Movement" award went to @REBS31 and @LewTheShoe as they each gained four spots in the standings.

The "Slipping & Sliding" award was taken by @donthaveanickname, @Truex_rox, and @Fordracing28 when they each slid three spots toward the cellar position.

The "Wiping Up the Rear" award was awarded to those same three players (go figure) thanks to the last place finish of their pick, Michael McDowell.

Oh my gosh…I misread my chart thinking I had an open slot to use Larson. What makes that OVERLY HORRIBLE is that I was trying to decide between Larson and BYRON 😵‍💫. Yes…I coulda, mighta, and shoulda…but dumbda the whole thing.

I share my embarrassment as a public service announcement for other players, and a reminder to myself, to take enough time to do it right!

That's really unfortunate. At least you're still in 6th, doing much better than me this year. We even have the same number of A & B drivers left, so you could still win the whole thing if everything goes right.

Thanks for the encouragement. Bummer is the amount of points back from strong leaders just doubled. With Larson finishing 26th I would have taken a hit regardless. However, if my eyes had focused better I would have picked Byron 😂. My remaining picks will have to be extremely lucky to close the gap.
