30 races are in the books,
6 more races to go,
Now is the time to make my move...

I believe in setting goals and working hard to achieve them. It's true in life, and it's true in the Nascar Pick 'Em business. Since the Daytona 500 in February, my goal has been 540 points for the year, an average of 15 points per race.

With 534 points through 30 races, it's gonna be tough but I've still got a shot to meet my goal. But there's no margin for error. If I pick the winning driver in all six remaining races... 534 + (6 x 1) = 540. Ahhh, I love it when a plan works out just like you drew it up! :dual9mm:

Hey, Gilligan … Ginger called.

She told me to tell you she’ll do you the big favour if you finish top ten. 😎

For some reason, I didn't notice I had Burton available. That said, this race is very unpredictable, so it doesn't really matter.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but go Corey Lajoie! :headbang:

In my younger working days they nicknamed me "Gilligan" but it was great there was two girls across the aisle that I called "Mary Ann and "Ginger". Nothing ever happened but there was a lot of fun moments.

It did me very well to not notice Harrison Burton, as I got an 18th out of Lajoie. I'm happy with that result.

Turned out ok because so many wrecked out.

On to the quasi-road course, hoping to hell Kaulig filed an entry for SVG.

Welcome to Talladega, where your driver can be terrible all day but come out with a top 10. Thanks Justin, for surviving.

There's only three other guys on the island.

Finishing in her Top Ten shouldn't be too difficult, even for Gilligan.
Couldn’t do it.

Qualified great, ran up front till the first fuel stop … missed pit road. Worked his way back up there and then got a pit road speeding penalty.

Ginger left a message … she’s very disappointed. 😎

Congratulations to @ToyYoda , the recipient of the "Highest Finishing Pick" award following the first place finish of his pick, Ricky Stenhouse Jr, in the YellaWood 500 at Talladega Superspeedway.

That makes it nine out of the last ten races that the race winner has been picked by at least one player of the game.

The "Most Upward Movement" award was shared by @ToyYoda and @Brentford as each of them gained four positions in the standings.

The "Slipping & Sliding" award was taken by @Greg when he dropped four positions in the standings thanks to the 38th place finish by his pick, Daniel Hemric.

The "Top Five" club remained unchanged once again but standings leader @ol'whathisname saw his lead over virtually the entire Top Ten reduced significantly in large part due to his pick, Harrison Burton, getting caught up in a massive wreck just four laps short of the scheduled finish.

After fending off recent challenges for the top spot by @aunty dive and @Spotter22, the greatest current threat to leader ol'whathisname is @dirtfan, who cut his deficit by 27 points and took over second place in the standings when his pick, Justin Haley, managed a seventh place finish.

Finally, the hottest player in the game, and still legitimate contender for the game's championship, is @Magicmiler. His picks have finished in the Top Ten in each of the last three races and during that time he's moved from 16th to 11th place in the standings and gained 32 points on the leader.

On top of that, @Magicmiler still has five A Group drivers left in his stable with five races left in the season.

I was in the somewhat upper echelon of finishers this weekend. It could've been even better if I had gone with the obvious, Justin Haley.

That said, nothing is obvious at superspeedways, so I'm happy to finish inside the top 20.

I think I'm still in contention for the championship, but I'll have to be flawless for the rest of the year if I want to have a chance.

Back to eying the top 10! I'm happy with the lineup I have left, but of course, they all could fail me on the weeks I pick them.

One of the many challenges of this game is how luck falls with prime driver picks. Depend on them for top level finishes. But when they crap the bed it hurts. I’ve had a few dump me by the curb this season (no thanks Byron, a couple of others).
