Full disclosure…

I will be on my way to Texas this Saturday, which means I will not be home for Chloe the cat to make her selection after qualifying. Therefore, she will be making her pick based off of last years starting lineup. It’s the best way I could think of to stick as close to my strategy as possible. Didn’t want there to be any confusion if our pick ends up starting in the 30’s.

Have fun bro! Chloe is making you look like a genius.

I'm 29th but "only" 94 points back of the leader. It could be a lot worse. If I can start making good picks, there is a chance I can make a run for the championship.

It looks like this year's champion will have a relatively high average points per race.

Chloe the cat seemed conflicted and confused as to why I was making her pick before qualifying. She changed her mind twice and ultimately went with the safe bet, Or so she thinks…

The link below is a very educational one on how to apologize and make nice with your cat (including peace offerings). Because Chloe has the 9/1 advantage.

You do what you gotta do.

A quick fix is to give her wet food. That’s always my go-to way to apologize. It works until the next time I make her mad.

You just never know. I’ve changed my pick late a couple of times…once helped and the other kicked me in the gonads.

Every time I pick Byron he has bad luck. Cody Ware messed him up, but thankfully he was able to recover enough (and other cars wrecked ahead of him) to finish 13th.

Last year I was leading the points-in the top 3 before I missed picking a couple weeks because life got crazy. I was picking off the wall guys who would have random great runs and got lucky.

This year I am an absolute jinx

It sucks that Hocevar took himself out. I was hoping for a top five before the caution put him a lap down.

But considering the way he screwed up, it could have been much worse than a 24th.

Congratulations to @ken, the recipient of the "Highest Finishing Pick" award following the first place finish of his pick, Joey Logano, in the Wurth 400 at Texas Motor Speedway.

The game's streak of someone picking the race winner has now reached eight consecutive races.

The top of the leader board remained firmly in the grasp of @kkfan91 for the fourth consecutive race as he increased his lead over second place @Mr. E to 23 points.

Along with the "Highest Finishing Pick" award, @ken snagged the "Most Upward Movement" award when that first place finishing pick elevated him a whopping eleven spots in the standings into the Top Ten for the first time this season.

Former game champion, @Clutch, unfortunately made a rookie mistake when he inadvertently picked a driver that he had previously used, thereby resulting in his pick of Carson Hocevar being declared ineligible.

On a more positive note, @Brentford's feline sidekick Chloe has now picked a Top Ten finishing driver in each of the last three races which has enabled @Brentford to crack the Top Five in the standings for the first time this season.

Finally, the "Slipping & Sliding" award was shared by @DanicaFreak and @Blaze as the finish of their picks caused each of then to drop six spots in the standings.

It’s about time an “A” driver does what they are supposed to do. Chloe has been in the process of writing an essay about why she thinks the “Driver’s used” rankings should be reevaluated after our “A” drivers have averaged a 23rd place finish while our “C” guys have an 11.5 average, in which I was supposed to hand deliver to the games commissioner. I told her it’s not a big deal, but me saying that just made her more angry. Hopefully this weeks result changes her perspective on the topic.

Ty Gibbs getting loose and losing a ton of positions in overtime is my Pick 'Em season in a nutshell. I was severely disgusted when that happened, but seeing the standings and all the bad picks made me feel a little better.

My short list for the race was Hocevar, Gibbs and Cindric.

I picked Hocevar and after he screwed up, it was all scorched earth. I needed Gibbs and Cindric to suck in order to break even.

Praise God, cause the day went from good to bad for them as well.

Game management of the NASCAR Pick 'Em game has given the use of the Green-Yellow-Red Group Driver Rankings some thought and come to the conclusion that using the performance of drivers during the 2024 season has become quickly outdated.

Thinkin' of changin' it up a bit after the 12th and 24th races based more upon driver performance during the current season.

The "essay" that Chloe's has been working on would come in handy during the possible reconnoitering of the "Driver's Used" spreadsheet.

Hand delivery of said material is not necessary as a drop off by carrier pigeon or hawt wimen is also acceptable.
