Any of you out there subscribe to one of the mobile version? I just changed from the computer based versions to the mobile option. I wanted something more portable. Do you know how the RaceView Mobile App stacks up against the RaceView Premium product? They both seem to offer the exact same thing but the mobile app is far cheaper.

I used the mobile app last year. It is ok, I use when at work etc.

It is a good secondary source, I use in a non real time manner.
Between issues or events at work I read the rundown.I think the scoring is RT, but I controll the scroll or lap by lap note reading.
There is usually some updated text every lap or other lap. Who is passing cars, who is falling back , bad and good pit stop info etc.

Nothing like watching on the tv, but you can use the scoring on the app and zoom out the banner on the set if you prefer.

Thats my POV using a Galaxy Note 2 phone.
The Apps are listed as free, it may change after the seasons start.
I unload the Apps after Homestead and reload for Daytona. I think there was a cost last year.

I will load both next week and keep the one I like best.

I subscribed to RaceView Premium or simply the scanner option for years online. Neither of those was in sync with the television either but they were close enough for me. If I'm home I have the scanner running along with the race. I wanted to have something for while I am away from the television during some of this seasons races that I could also use the scanner option on when I'm at home. That mobile option seems to fit my needs. I think that it was only $29 or $39. Dirt cheap for a years worth of entertainment value.

Maybe we can update / share info after Daytona. I am thinking the apps get reworked during the off season.

Will do. They'll be active for the Unlimited.

I gotta say, the means in which we get to take in a NASCAR race these days are absolutely incredible. Apps like these and options like Race Buddy to supplement the broadcast were 'Wouldn't it be cool if' ideas a few short years ago. Good stuff. I can't imagine what the next advancement in technology will be to go along with this sport.

Beam me to my seat at the race and then beam me back home afterwards. I'm getting too old for these 3700 plus mile trips haulin the rv.

They will have an app that can accuratly tell us what she really thinks one day....

That, I'm sure will never happen.

Got to try out the mobile app last night for the race. Met my expectations and will certainly be will wort the price. Commercials during the race broadcast are no longer a concern as I can still follow the action online just fine.

Notes on time lag.

The mobile app video portion is ahead of the televised race broadcast by about 5 seconds or so while the scanner audio is about 5 seconds behind. Neither of those are really a concern to me. I just thought I'd report my experiences with the product.

Thats the same lag time for the PC version. I can't wait to see my first Busch NNS Xfinity race on there.

Does the mobile app do the scanning or are you getting that thru a different source.
I keep the audio off at work when I am using the mobile app.

Yes, you can choose the MRN/PRN feed, the driver of choice or the officials. I have the app on an iPad using a pair of bluetooth speakers.

Thanks I honestly never knew even after a season of use. I will be hooking up some earbuds from now on.

An icon shows up on the bottom right hand corner of the screen that displays what your listening mode is. If you click on it you can then choose a driver to listen to.

Freakin' love the mobile apps and the Mac based. Awesomeness! Highly recommended.
