I love listening to the Nascar channel on Sirius XM but I no longer have a Sirius subscription. Is there a similar 24/7 Nascar show or station on AM/FM that I can listen to on a radio app such as "Tunein Radio"?

No, but you can find seven channels talking about basketbore on your AM/FM dial.
 
Im aware... I just cant justify having a Sirius subscription to listen to one channel. Then again, I feel the same way about TV.
 
MRN produces a lot of weekly NASCAR audio shows. Is there any way to get them for free?

Do you get Velocity and MAVTV? They're kind of "car" channels, with some motorsports.
 
Yeah I dont get it either considering we have a season that lasts 10 months out the year.
 
NASCAR won't pay for anything they don't have to. Speed was very NASCAR-centric (ask Dave Despain), yet News Corp paid the bills. So NASCAR got their equivalent of an NFL Network without having to spend a dime.
 
Speaking of Dave, his new show on MAV TV is awesome. He had sprint car driver Cory Kruseman on the other day it was a real good interview.

Welcome to the forum Benz . I recently dropped my Sirius subscription for the same reason . Never had it off the Nascar station , but it was getting a little stale . Thought I'd give it a year off . (One of the reasons we like to see new posters on here . :) )

The NFL Network is 24 hours of the same three shows.

Well NASCAR can not only cover Sprint Cup, Nationwide and Camping World. But it can also cover K&N, Whelen Modified and Hel it can cover races at some of the most popular short tracks in the United States and Canada.

Yep, agreed it's the one sport that should have it's own network.
 
I get my money's worth from SiriusXM on the NASCAR channel alone. Back when it was strictly on XM with Claire B was when I started listening to it and I continue today. I really like being able to have access to my NASCAR news 24/7.

As far as a NASCAR television channel goes. That would be great but NASCAR already has a sweet deal. Just about anything/everything about NASCAR is already being televised now with its television partners. Why make the investment?
 
Someone should let the brain know. If theres money to be made I would think they would be on it

That's awesome when you get FS2. Fox doesn't suck, but Comcast blows goats. I've been working on getting an answer regarding when and/or if I will ever get FS2. Know what? Nobody knows who to even transfer me to. A complete money grubbing cluster ****. Would go dish in a second but trees etc. make it a logistical difficulty.

....Back to NASCAR Radio.....Love it! Even find it comical to listen to Chocolate Myers plead that he doesn't hate Kyle Busch when he does.
 
The reason a nascar channel isn't gonna happen is quite simple really. Economics! All sport has to sell are the races/race weekends. National sports networks not only want the races but the practices and qual sessions as well.

The nfl/nba/mlb channels are still fighting for carriage deals, to get in more homes. Nascar trying to sell service providers on a channel would be rough. No live races of the top 3 series (the only ones that bring any significant ratings) makes that sell even tougher. In the end nascar isn't gonna tell fox/NBC/espn they don't want their billions of $$$ so nascar itself can incur the astronomical costs of starting a channel and the costs of producing broadcasts and content.

The nfl. THE N.F.L......the far and away biggest sport in this country has been fighting for 11yrs to get the nfln on par with espn's carriage. I can't imagine nascar whose on track rights are locked up through 2024 is even interested in that
 
I just bought a new car that has a free Sirius subscription for 3 months so ofcourse the channel 90 bug has bit me. Im just contemplating what to do when the subscription runs out. I guess I'll have to dish out $15 a month...

Good point. I saw where ESPN got a 6.8 share for it's coverage of the 1st round of the NFL Draft last week, while the NFL Network only pulled a 1.9 for the same event.

As for NASCAR, with TV ratings share down from 2013 in all 11 races so far this year, and total viewership down in all but one race vs. '13, it doesn't seem like it would be a sound investment.

Satellite radio will have 60 free channels for 2 weeks starting May 20th. Don't know if NASCAR is one of them

Call sirius XM and see what deal they will give you...NEVER pay full price...EVER. You can usually get a year for 78.00 or so. Also it's good to let your subscription expire after you actually pay because after and a few weeks in the mail you should get offers for 5 or 6 months for 20 bucks.... Never pay by credit card..Always ask them to send you and invoice for 2 bucks. I have heard a lot of horror stories about credit cards automatically renewing at full price. Also be sure you call and tell them not to renew your subscription before it
ends or they have the right to bill you at full price
