3 RCR cars and 3 turner cars all got to replace their front bumper covers.

Good for them. They need to work.

Penalties if any will be given on Tuesday.

Word is they reinforced them with cast iron when they heard Steve was coming back. Silly boys, don't they know that only Sr was allowed to do that?

OK, I got it out of my system. Lets talk racing.

Do you think Steven will get his first win?

The cars never hit the track. If they're penalized, it's a gross injustice.

OK, I have to ask...

Denny Hamlin shows up for Richmond with a 2000 HP jet engine and presents that car for inspection, it is OK as long as "the car never hit the track?"

If it's okay for Jimmie Johnson, it's okay for everyone. End of story.

It may be the end of the story for you but wasn't the 48 penalized with a monetary fine?

Penalty for: Section 20-A ); 20A-2.1E (streamlining of the contours of the car, beyond what is approved by the series director

WHAT??! Holy Frak.
NA$$CAR again shows their selective and inconsistent enforcement of their own rules.
Unbelievable...
No they are just learning from their mistakes. It would have came down to this after Middlebrook would have been done with it.

Just askin ..but you do realize this is the Nationwide Series right ? Different series , different cars ,different rules , different officials , different ability to pay ? Just askin.

Sure, Ted. I mentioned that earlier.
But there should still be an expected consistency in the enforcement of rules from one NA$$CAR Series to another. Without looking at the rulebook I would not know the exact rules violation.

DP, is this for Nationwide, CUP or both?

Enforcement of rules can be constant in many areas , but there are no teams in the lower series that can afford the fines that are imposed on cup teams. Even a crew chief suspension when the team has only five or six full time employees is a deal breaker for most teams.

Agreed! I was referring more to points penalties as opposed to monitary fines or suspensions.

That was from the Nationwide Series rule book.

This. Pemberton saying scale different for Nationwide.

There are teams in the upper series that can't afford the fines. 200 points and $200,000.00 was a bit too much for Carl Long, anyway, but I suspect Childress can afford a few thousand here and there. You know, if he can afford to run 3 teams in all 3 series.

I was going to mention the Carl Long deal as an example of a team ruining penalty . There was some question if he was even aware of the engine mods as he had just bought it from a cup team as I recall.

Ernie Elliot is the builder and I'm not 100% sure but it think it was a worn out Ganassi engine that was a few thousands of an inch over bore tolerance. I doubt they ever thought it'd be inspected. The HP gains would've been very minimal so I doubt Long intenionally over-bored that engine but Nascar is strict on bore infractions.

Seems to me that he'd have been wiser to juice up his fuel.

I don't think that there was any mention of a team by team scale. The seemed to be indicating that it was a Series scale.

I sure hate to start talking about this again but Carl's penalty was in the Cup Series, not Nationwide. Also, you can't really use ignorance as an excuse?
