natonwide series 200 race thread

ESPN/ABC give zero ****s about the Nationwide Series. Postrace coverage is nonexistent all year long.

Wait, you wanted to hear Sadler talk about the big dump he took?! :D

It's not NASCAR's job to throw the red flag because someone's crying about fuel. They did that. They did that only because Kyle Busch (and others) were crying about fuel.
I'm glad you at least came clean (although I'm surprised you didn't make that particular font smaller) that you mentioned "and others." Again, we get it, you don't like Kyle Busch, and NASCAR is nothing more than a big pre-arranged, fixed conspiracy.

I had the same complaint last year when IndyCar threw a red flag at California out of nowhere, for no apparent reason. It was all of two minutes. NASCAR did it because a few drivers were whining about fuel.

Yeah, you're right. It's all nothing more than a big conspiracy.

After thinking about it I think Andy is right. NASCAR should have ran under yellow. In the past they have thrown red flags before with a few laps to go in order to finish under green but also to keep the race at finishing at a normal schedule distance, like no GWC, or to preserve the first GWC. This time they were already under a GWC, the third to be exact. So there really was no need to throw the red, unless you are doing it only so teams can save fuel. To me that is rigging the out come of the race. It isn't NASCAR's fault that teams weren't prepared for 3 GWC. I mean according to the rules that is a possibility. If fuel was such a concern the teams could have pitted when Sam did. Now that I think about NASCAR did screw teams like Sam that were prepared.

You hear it every week when they talk about saving fuel... the crew chiefs tell the drivers every week to save enough for the possibility of green white checkered finishes. The teams didn't do that today and whined to NASCAR about it when they were caught off guard. That wreck took three minutes to clean up. It's not like they would've run under caution for 10 laps.

Actually a decent race, alot of little battles. Just so tough to pass and Kyle being a level above sucked.. Modifieds race kills this race tho.

After reading Pokasses twitter account he agrees with NASCAR, but many do no! Their replies to him were right on part with what Andy and I have said.

Elliott Sadler to Regan Smith: "You will not win the championship. Mark my word."

The replay shows Smith steering into Salder but I can't tell if he got lose and was correcting it or just plain dumped him.

It's akin to fixing the outcome of the race in my opinion. Honestly, it's one of the most blatant things I've ever seen. The call against Elliott Sadler at Indy last year and the call against Robby Gordon at Montreal in 2007 appeared to be pretty blatant instances of NASCAR fixing the outcome of a race - but at least NASCAR's stuck with the precedents they created with those calls. Today's call is a precedent they will never stick to. And it wasn't a rare, extraordinary circumstance either like Charlotte was.

anyone find it surprising how vickers and sadler seem to be pretty second tier in gibbs equipment?? I can't believe these guys aren't winning races. further I thought vickers should have been ALOT more agressive with KB on those restarts. for instance I would have drove it in so hard that kyle would have at least got his door slammed maybe used up a little in the turns, just keep forcing him high until the advantage is gained. I don't respect a guy who is content with second especially when they have little to loose championship wise.

They're in top equipment but that doesn't mean anything when the talent is not up to par.. As much as I love Vickers, he ain't no Kyle Busch.. Sadler is lucky to even have a gibbs ride.

I'm guessing he was being extra careful not to piss his boss off by taking out a teammate. Sadler could lose a one car race so that's really all you can say about him.

Vickers has had a lot of bad luck -- I came name a good amount of wrecks he has been caught up in that aren't his fault, plus a blown engine. If it weren't for that, he would be competing for the championship with Hornish and Smith.
Keep in mind before this race that Sadler was third in points -- not too shabby. I always have liked him, but I don't tink he's that good of a driver. I predicted that this year he wouldn't be a championship factor, and so far it looks like I may be right.

Vickers? 270 races in cup, best full season finish 12th? bad luck or bad driving, I pick bad driving. 6th in N'wide with top flite equipment. I can't get behind the guy. Hendrick gave him a shot, Red Bull too. He can't drive a Hendrick Chevy finished 15th. He's done in my book. Good for Toyota.

Red Bull is mid road equipment, on par with RPM. Before his Red Bull days he wasn't experienced enough.

Kyle's far more talented and experienced than everyone in that series and, aided by a far superior car than anyone, it's why he dominates that series.

Smith has it coming to him. The dude raced like a disk today. Being on Jr's team has really gone to his head. There was one point today that Hornish passed smith clean and Smith took the bumper to him. Doesn't surprise me if he did spin Sadler on purpose.
