The 25 car was fastest in practice, but fell off a touch and qualified 10th. Still an improvement over the struggles this team has had. Reading between the lines here, one has to assume that the setups inherited by Nemechek and Brian were less than up to snuff.
A post qualifying quote from Joe:
"A big turnaround for this whole UAW-Delphi Chevrolet team, though. Hendrick Motorsports, Brian Pattie, my new crew chief, this is one of the first cars that we've really worked on hard, the body. And it drives like I like it. Some big changes from what we were doing before. It's just good to come to a race track and be able to run good. When you're not running good people look at you and say, wow, what's wrong. But we're running the way these cars should run."
