Several NASCAR reporters have posted on Twitter today the new Chevy SS will be revealed on Nov. 29 in Las Vegas. It wasn't mentioned if it's just the race version or the street version will also be revealed.

So now, NA$$CAR will feature Australian, Mexican and American-built cars!

Canada will be eliminated due to the Dodge pull-out.

Truly a Global Sport!

That's some sad but funny chit right there.

Don't get to sad MOEJOE. He forgot to mention that the SS will only be made in Australia for the first year and then will be built in America after that. Still no word when Toy*ta will build cars instead of assembling here with their foreign parts and have to pay the union fees like AMERICAN manufacturers. Here's what my Australian SS should look like when I part with my Australian G8. Of course Detroit got my money;)

Damn fine looking soon to be made in america automobile.

Yes it is. But by the time na$car gets done with it in the interests of "parity" it'll look like a brick.

Yeah, ol Jack will be crying his eyes,,ooops, eye out to na$car claiming how unfair it is.

Why should any manufacturer be required to pay Union Scale?
The FORD is assembled in Mexico (no Union Scale) and the Impala is built in Canada, along with the Charger (again, no Union Scale).

To imply that AMERICAN manufacturers pay Union Fees to builld the street versions of their CUP cars is incorrect, my friend.

That wasn't what I was implying. Fact is if Toy*ta had to play by the same rules as the American car companies those pieces of sh*t would be sitting on a boat where they belong. Or the parts needed to assemble them here so they can say they're assembled here.

I don't know about particular nascar models, but Toyota does use domestic parts in many of their models.

Question: Which American cars have the highest domestic-parts content?
Answer: According to a Cars.com, relying on information from the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA), the top 10 models are listed below for 2009, which is the latest information I can find. You’ll notice that six of the top seven nameplates are American.
Make/Model, Domestic-parts content, Assembly location
Ford Taurus – 90 percent – Chicago, Ill.
Lincoln MKS – 85 percent – Chicago, Ill.
Toyota Sienna – 85 percent – Princeton, Ind.
GMC Savana 1500 – 82 percent- Wentzville, Mo.
Chevrolet Express 1500 – 82 percent – Wentzville, Mo.
Buick Lucerne – 81 percent – Detroit, Mich.
Chevrolet Malibu – 80 percent – Kansas City, Kan.
Honda Odyssey – 80 percent – Lincoln, Ala.
Toyota Avalon – 80 percent – Georgetown, Ky.
Toyota Tundra – 80 percent – San Antonio, Texas
Toyota Venza – 80 percent – Georgetown, Ky.

A Ford at the top???????????????

Oh my, what does that say about the Fordists?

Wasn't it you that told me to give this stuff up? Don't make me post a link again...

I drive a truck built in Fort Wayne, IN and ride a motorcycle built in Marysville, OH. ;)

Notice how the F-150 and Chevy Silverado are not on that list.

I drove a Camry built in TEXAS. I will NEVER buy a product built in TEXAS ever again.

Not one single panel, exterior or interior matched up like my 93 camry does. People in TEXAS suck at building cars.

My father in law moved from Grand Rapids MI to Texas and found everybody to be stupid that he worked with.
He worked in the art of building parts for twenty plus years in Grand Rapids. TEXAS is the worst he told me, the people are stupid, and he's never going back.

The truck plant that build the tundra had a lot of problems when it started up. Maybe they are getting better now.

The whole union thing is being misconstrued here. Ohio builds crap tons of HONDAS and as far as I know, they aren't union. Neither are the toyota plants in the south. But the tax payer was fleeced to the tune of $152,000 per job created when a senator gave TOYOTA some HUGE tax breaks for puttin a plant in his voting terrritory.

Hyundai built a billion dollar factory in the South West. Then they filled it with people who build cars and pay payroll taxes. WIN.

Ford and Chevy start building cars and trucks in MEXICO. WE LOSE.

I don't know if I know what you're saying but I will try.

Honda workers in OHIO get the same wages and benefits as UAW employees, but they aren't union. Go figure.

I should probably grab a beer, set back and watch this one unfold ;)
Just a note to some of our newer members like Charlie Spencer , things are not always as docile as they might appear. Moe Joe just offended half the population of the South.:D

P>S One of our moderators is Texas Race Lady , who will surely put a stop to this Texan bashing .

It's not bashing man. It's facts. The TOYOTA plants in TEXAS suck ash. The tundra and camry had loads of problems. Not very TOYOTAISH

I think that Ted may have been referring to this.

And if you include their relatives that will be offended when they hear it, that percentage is 100%.

You guys sure got off topic:D
