What a stretch this is, like... 9 days until the next race?!

It feels like the offseason right now:laugh::laugh:
And just think, we were supposed to have 2 weekends off around this time. Would've been a killer.

If this is a safe space, then I’ll admit this track has never been a favorite of mine.

Been going to Loudon since it was Bryar Motor Sports park..Started going in the 70's, then the Bahres repurposed it into a wonderful facility for New England.
Sadly, Brutons corporate greed took over. Still, a good venue for New England, as the closest Superspeedway is Pocono. Went every September, camped on property for 5 days, had great times, till that race was biffed.
Used to do the summer day trip, up and back from R.I, 2 1/2 hrs each way..Too hot now, and much easier from the coolness of the man cave to enjoy.

The Modified races were a added bonus.
This as their Big Track Showcase.

Exactly. He's too good for that thing.
That wasn't my point at all. I was only observing he didn't screw up. If I recall, he finished around 29th mostly due to attrition; my access to Racing Reference is blocked here at work at the moment. At the moment, I think it's about the level of hardware he merits if he insists on running Cup; with his inexperience, he's should be running Xfinity at most.

Started 35th in both races, finished 34th and 30th. In both races 3 cars DNF'ed. I'd say an RWR buy-a-ride is about right at this point.

Yeah, I was just saying he didn't get in the way enough to warrant a ride with a car number in the 50s. Their job is to bring out yellows and catch the wrath of KFB.

A cause for optimism from Goodyear tire and concrete? They are running the same tire they ran at Phoenix that had decent fall off.

They must've run out of titanium after using it in the tires the last few weeks straight

one of the only ways to get a decent tire would be to get the tire makers name off of it. Like have a Nascar specification tire MADE by the manufacturer..and let Nascar take the heat when the tire is crap. Nascar isn't going to take that responsibility or spend all of the money to buy the tire and resell it to the teams and possible heat for mistakes. Another way would be to invite other tire manufacturers into the series.

I don't remember the ins and outs of it. It was a wild time I believe, I think it was in the interest of safety it was curtailed. So much water under the bridge since that time. The cars and tracks are so much safer and the tire technology is leaps and bounds better than back then. I can't really compare the two.

The "wars" were fought on bias-plies.

I'm reminded of muzzle-loading firearms.

I wouldn't mind Michelin getting involved. They have a huge facility about four miles from me to manufacture specialty tires - big honkers they have to use 'Wide Load' banners to truck out, and only two at a time can be loaded. Strikes me as the perfect place to crank out a niche product. Maybe do some testing at Carolina Motorsports Park, the road course in Kershaw SC where the Cup teams used to test occasionally.

Don't mind me; just streaming some semi-consciousness again.

Goodyear is contractually designated the official tire supplier.

Until expiration, that document leaves no room for a competitor.
