Any loss that young is a tragic one, but it sounds like this was a suicide, which is especially awful.

His 2018 performance against Ohio State was one of the most memorable in recent history. I am not a super religious person, but I hope he and Tyler Trent are having a heavenly moment together.

Why can't it be officiated?

The number of times there are false starts or offsides on these plays but the officials can't see because of the formation. We can only see that on overhead shots.

I wasn't in favor of banning it until I saw this happen often.

They can’t see it. I’ve even heard that mentioned on broadcasts. Where the refs are at, field level, they can’t see it.

ESPN sources: Bears Pro Bowl center Drew Dalman has informed the team that he is retiring from the NFL at age 27. Dalman left Stanford in 2021, and after four seasons in Atlanta and one in Chicago, he has made the sudden and surprising decision to retire.

The Bears signed Dalman to a three-year, $42M contract last offseason, and he turned in a Pro Bowl season, starting all 17 games and playing all 1,154 offensive snaps.

And now he makes the stunning decision to step away.
