NFL Dates Conflict With NASCAR Chase

Racing on Saturday nights hurts the local tracks.

No it doesn't. If a track puts on a good enough show, they'll get the fans there regardless of the day of the week. Hell I've seen Potomac Speedway file in capacity crowds during Sprint Cup races before.

Every other race was in July when there is no football so of course there are going to be football fans at the race since they don't have a game to go to.
I was thinking about the Indycar race, so you're right. Quite the dick about it, but right nonetheless.

Attendance might be affected at some of these tracks where home NFL games are going head to head with the races, but I don't see where it would have that bad an effect on TV ratings. It might actually help, as home NFL games are often blacked out in their TV market if the game doesn't sell out. NASCAR's TV ratings have always taken a nosedive whenever the NFL season starts, I don't anticipate this year being much different.

Think someone said on Race Day, why not set up the chase so there can be more night races. I'm sure NASCAR would much rather go against College Football than the NFL.
Yep. NFL ratings far exceed college football ratings. I'm sure they'd see a significant increase if they did that.

How many of those tracks have lights though? I don't think that too many do.
Texas for one. Chicagoland and Phoenix both used to have night races so I'm assuming they still have lights too. They could probably get a 50/50 split of night/day races if they wanted to.

Yeah, that's cute. Try this.....

This bro knows whats up. Steelers now, Steelers forever!

Won't miss any NASCAR for Steelers games, woot!

I DVR both. I finish the races a lot quicker fast forwarding commercials and caution laps and I can watch an NFL game in about 25 mins fast forwarding in between plays because for the most part they stand around while the clock keeps counting down.
