So the Nationwide series heads to the Brickyard for the 2nd time this weekend. What do you guys think of the NNS Series racing at the Brickyard? Who do you think will take the checkered? I foresee a repeat of last weekend and last year. ;)

Prepare for Andy and others to rant about how the race should have never left IRP, that the people who run NASCAR don't know what they are doing and how moving the race to the Brickyard is the worst thing since 9/11.

Count me in on an IRP fan. I never went but I did like the racing that I watched there. Nobody can honestly think that the move from IRP/ORP, whatever you'd like to call it, was to put on a better show. But then again, I'm a short track fan.

I'm from Indiana and an avid Brickyard fan, but I think the NNS race should have stayed at ORP. IMS should have been kept as a coveted Sprint Cup "privilege" if you will. I know a lot of people hate Indy but it's a great place, IMO. I think Sadler or Hornish might take the win this year, just a feeling.

I liked it better there as well. I was just preparing our young friend for the onslaught. haha

I don't think that anyone can deny the long history and just how special Indy is. For some of us that have been around for a while watching NASCAR, Indy & NASCAR still seem like an odd mix. I love the track with the Indy Series running it, I'm just not quite as excited when it comes to Cup being there. That being said, I'll be tuning in like always.

A race can break out at any time, or any place. Most of the best races this year have been in N'wide, so I am looking forward to the race. I try not to whine about stuff I have no control over, sometimes I don't make it.:) I'm OK though with it at the big track. I think more fans will come to the race and get a chance to walk around Indy. IMO the track that started it all back in 1909. I don't think there would be a Daytona or a Talladega, without an Indy.

If Kyle is in Nationwide, he will win baring a miracle.

Unless fuel mileage, wreck, pit penalty, blown tire, blown engine, brake failure, trash on grill, bad strategy or a faster car.

I think anyone forced to bet all their money on the race would take Kyle but still...they run the races for a reason.

This may well be one of the best races in a very long time. ;)

I liked IRP, ORP, LOR....or whatever the hell they called that place. The IMS Nationwide race isn't as much fun, but I'll still watch it.

Racing at IRP was great. Drivers could run two-wide and three-wide all the way around that place. Maybe if things don't improve over the next few years they'll move back there and have an Eldora-IRP-IMS trifecta. That would be an awesome road trip.

I'm boycotting this year's NW Indy race. They should have never left IRP.

Though that probably doesn't mean much since I have stopped watching NW races that Kyle is entered in anyway. This pathetic race replacing a great race is just another reason.

I also would rather see the NNS race still at ORP. The successful turnout at Eldora for the trucks this week looked a lot like ORP used to be when they had the Busch race there. It'd be cool to have the Indy Lights race there on the Saturday night before the 500, too.

And as long as we're shaking things up, I like the sports car series race on the road course at IMS (running today), but it seems odd to have it on NASCAR weekend. It would draw better having it on Indy 500 weekend; they seem to be able to re-configure the infield in time to use both tracks and I'd think more open wheel fans would go. Have that race on Saturday afternoon, the Lights at ORP Saturday Night, then the 500 on Sunday. Sell a ticket package, have shuttles between the tracks, Talladega-style all night party at The Speedway Saturday night.

If Kyle is in Nationwide, he will win baring a miracle.

Gibbs and Childress have a total of eight cars and four cup regulars in their lineup, two more from Penske and Jr/Hendrick. I think there are maybe one or two, if their car is good, that can beat the nationwide bully Kyle. N'wide regulars that have a chance to beat Kyle?, I'll go with Dillon, and Smith to either win or be the top finishers in the N'wide.

I have learned to enjoy the race within the race when Kyle is running away with it. For me I watch what Hornish, Smith, Dillion, and Sadler do.
I do the same thing if the lead car is way out front. Wish the camera people would too. They're getting better about it. Lap after lap trying to figure out something to say about the leader might have something to so with it.:)

Once again, Matthew tries to throw out a cheap shot and steps in it.

Funny how one can criticize those who complain about Nationwide's move from the short track, and then agree with them, all in one thread.

go figure . . .

I thought he made it to turn 4. He was hookin it when he hit at least. Pastrana is getting painful to watch

LOL, they just did the Tom Carnegie "New Track Record" over the PA for Parker Kligerman in Nationwide.

Whoever is commentating this NNS qualifying on Speed is terrible.

Does anybody here watch Arrested Development? KyBu totally looks like Buster Bluth today.
Oh, this is going to make watching him so much more fun!
