No chance for Junior

Absolutely true, shadow, but let's not forget it is the media that is promoting all the red you see. I'd be willing to be the farm that Junior wishes it would leave him alone, and let him do his job.

yeah i know, but when you are as famous as him you must be willing to accept all that.

you like it because dale jarrett in on it, wait till he gets knocks out of it you'll love it even more right???

Real good. He was 12th last year and was out of the Chase. And I STILL LIKE IT!

He must not find it all that hard to have cameras in his face or wouldn't be in every other commercial on the speed channel and Fox when they're airing races.

Patrick, Junior has no say in when those commercials air -- or how many times they are played. His sponsors say "do this", so he does.

I also doubt he chases down the TV talking heads and asks to be interviewed.

Come on now, he has a say in which commercials he's in. He is an aspiring actor, after all.

Mayyylene has nothing to do with it.

Jr. has obligations to his sponsors that are part of a legal binding contract. As do most of the drivers with thier respective sponsors.

I don't think Jr will make the chase. he might, but i doubt it...

I wasn't aware that Enterprise was one of his sponsors.

Enterprise is an associate sponsor for DEI, How about Win Fuel?

Surely you've seen the Enterprise commercial where the girl rebukes Lil'E for not coming around and opening the door for her.
I've always thought this was because in the other Enterprise commercial "Alex" always comes around and opens the door for Lil'E.
I guess he's used to sitting on that side on dates... :growl:

Yeah, I know. It's a cheap shot. But, it is funny if you link the 2 commercials.

Hey guys and gals, I'm new here so go easy on me. I still don't understand the changes they made with the 8 and the 15 before this season. In the past Waltrip was mediocre and Jr was solid, now there both mediocre, do you think they regret the move?

I think there's a good chance they are rethinking the changes........at least in the Jr camp. :) But time will really tell the tale if the move was good in the long run.....it's hard to make major changes without some unexpected complications cropping up. One of the problems I see is that Jr has never had to deal with a new team until this season.......big adjustment. :D

And welcome to the board..........keep your head down out there in Ft Lauderdale for the next few hours.

personally I hope he don't make the chase, maybe that will be a wake up call.

I don't think poor Jr. has got a chance at The Chase. He just left his best kind of track (plate track), and now he's going back to the mile and a half tracks that have kicked his butt all year. If you take his average at the next 9 tracks and average those finishes, it comes out to 17th. DEI better get things back to where they were before they made them "better" arrangements.

Still standing by that statement? :D

One good call in the pits won't get him in. The person I'd be watching right now is Kenseth. If they get back to normal, he can run off top fives every week & he'll make the cut.

Let's see..........Matt is 202 out of 10th and 178 out of the 400 point threshold. Jr is 115 out of 10th and 91 out of the 400 point cut off. Matt will make it and Jr hasn't a chance!! Gee, that should make sense............but it don't!!! :D

When did I say that Jr didn't have a chance, snippy ??Maybe you should actually read my post next time.Just said that one good pit call ain't gonna get it, he needs performance week in & out which they haven't had. Let's see... Junior had a 7th to 10th place car all day(which is good) and won the race(even better) but to think that they're 100% back on track because of a pit strategy win is wishful thinking at best. Kenseth on the other hand, dominated the race, led the most laps, etc. The performance is there at the 17 for now.I don't think either will get in on the 400pt rule, however, I do think that Kenseth has a better cahnce of cracking the top ten by the cutoff than JR.

And all I said was that that should make sense........but it don't!

We both know both drivers and teams have an uphill climb to get in the chase. But Jr's hill is smaller. :) As far as I remember that is first time Matt has had a dominate car in way over a year! Jr's dominated a race or two since Matt's last dominating performance........who's snippy? Isn't this thread's title "No chance for Jr"? Seems there is a chance after all.......and the way things stand at the moment, a better chance than Matt.

If you want to know the truth about this Jr fan, I'll tell you. I see Jr getting in the chase with luck. Emphasis is on "with luck". But, like I said very early in this thread, Jr does have a chance until it becomes impossible to earn enough points to overcome the deficit he is facing. At this point in the season it's not impossible..........so anyone who says he's out is just plain wrong. Perhaps being wishful in their thinking? :D

And, I actually did read your post.........and reread it just a minute ago. I still got the same message "One good call in the pits won't get him in. ". But finishing high in the coming races and maybe winning one or two will. Luck plays into almost every race..........and in every Championship run. Case in point: Matt Kenseth 2003. Jr needs a little less luck than Matt at the moment.

Kenseth is a proven cup champion, Earnhartd isn't - for whatever that's worth.

Which isn't much, since we are talking about making the Chase this year and not comparing Championships.

So how does everyone like this Chase setup now? I still think it is thesuck. I know, we aren't thru the 2nd year yet but I do hope that Jimmie or The Biff goes on a tear and really puts the guys outside of 10 to bed. Maybe even make it embarrassing for the 9th and 10th place guys to even be competing they are so far behind.
Either that or both Jimmie and The Biff tank and stink things up so bad that everyone in the top 20 gets in. That would probably be a better scenario. Throw open the Championship to any yahoo who can drive. Shrub is only 613 points back in 20th. Let's give him a chance for a championship. :D

Comparing championships? You have to get in to get win it.

I think I'll put my money the guy who has one.
