Not looking good for Vegas

It's been raining here for the past two weeks, drizzle here, bit of shower here and now a slight shower over here in the southern Nevada area. My brother and I will attend the races The Sams Town 300 and UAW Daimler Chrysler 400, I advise anyone who also plans to, to plan ahead, it's going to be raining so make sure you have all those plannings in advance such as hoods, ponchos such and such.

Friendly reminder from your Nevadan in chief!

When I get rained on this weekend, I'm blaming Happy29 for bringing it up! :D

Didn't you know talking about rain makes it rain ?

All I've heard about it is it's supposed to be sunny and warm, it's raining here in LV now and it's supposed to rain tomorrow but that is it. Just like the weather report that DE has.

This will be the first Vegas race we have missed in six years....but I would hate to go to the expense and have it rained out like it did three years ago...it was windy, rainy & just plain miserable! So I'll enjoy watching on our tv, curled up with lots of pepsi & snacks infront of the fireplace! B)

Saving money for Fontana's night race in Sept. That is one I don't want to miss!

Dupont..............unless the prices increase for the Labor Day race you are looking at 65 bucks a seat for row 10 in the sections east or west of the center 1/3 of the grand stands. If you take the Metrolink add anywhere from 25 to about 30 bucks a head (depending on how far you are from the track.....but you are about as far as we are and ours are 27 bucks). Ain't that bad really. :D

I love these double posts...........one of you admins will you please delete one for me!! :)

Hey Rookie  Don't I know you. LOL :D

:p Eagle 1...I bet I know you too! LOL....funny seeing friends over here...I use to post way back when a lot over here but as time went on just settled down to one board...now I'm expanding out a little!

DE...yes those prices are good for Fontana....it was Vegas that we lost over $400 just on seats that year it rained...Vegas seats are still very high...Fontana much more reasonable! That just happened to be the years we bought our kids tickets too...$115 a ticket but that were great seats....just a miserable cold raining year and our daughter's first race, she just cried when we had to leave!!!

I hope it holds out as well. My Aunt is surprising my Uncle with tikets to the race. All he knows is that they are going on vacation out west!

Well, it's sunny right now, but it might come back, it's been on and off :(

However, good news, the "weather reporter" (more like Ms. Cleo's apprentice to me) says that the rain should pull out before the race.

Hey DE....a friend posted over at the Igloo that California Speedway is selling for three days tickets for $500!!!! I'm going to be really sick if they hike that price up that high because it's the first night race.....really sick!!

Dupont, go see for yourself. :D

California Speedway

Yeah you can get a weekend package for close to 500 bucks....heck you could probably spend more if you wanted. Just click on "Purchase Tickets" button and scroll down to The Pop Secret 500. It lists the price ranges for various packages..........the single day tickets are not on sale yet.

You just can't believe everything you read on the internet. :)

Well thank goodness...thanks DE....but it's looking like all the hotels/motels are booked solid near the track. My daughter and I attended the spring race there last years and we ended up staying in Victorville.....not bad, only a 40 minute drive on the freeway and looks like we might end up there this fall! B)

59 more days and we will be at the california speedway...yeah...........can't wait........got our tickets...........all we have to do is go........ :D :D :D :D

Well, the sun is out right now, partly cloudy about 51 Degrees, I suggest bringing your jackets but the weatherman or "Ms. Cleo's Book keeper" says that it should warm up.

Heres to hopefully a full green flag event. :)

Dale Earnhardt Jr., 7-7:30 p.m., MGM Grand.

The biggest star (according to his fans) since Jesus walked the earth and he only grants his peeps 30 minutes. That is so gracious of him. I don't know how he can possibly spare the time.

Just a little advice for the Weather Channel lovers...

My brother works for NCAR (National Center for Atmospheric Research....) These are the SCIENTISTS that programed and run the computers that tell the TV Weather guys what's going on...

They are constantly saying NOT to trust a forecast of more than 3 days. There are way too many factors involved to get predictable results. It's just not going to be accurate. PERIOD.

If you don't believe me, spend a week writing down the 10th day of The Weather Channels' forecast and see how far off they are! It should be a crime to post information that is so skewed!

So check on Thursday or Friday to see what conditions might be like for the weekend!

Or Saturday morning for the Busch race and Sunday morning for the Cup race!! :D

Hi TRL...well I'm so disappointed.....not making Vegas this year....boo-hoo :(
but sure going to try the night Fontana...if we can find a room and reasonable race tickets....Maire thinks we are in for some trouble in both areas! But DE think we have a good chance once they start selling single tickets....we only go for the WC race.....dangit, Nextel...I'm never going to get use to that name!!!

((((Hugs back at ya)))

My bet is that single race tickets will go on sale shortly after the May race.........keep checking the web site. Cutie will be calling em if she don't see anything within a week or two on the site. And since we have purchased tickets four (make that five) years running we usually get something in the mail too. :D We'll post something when we hear about tickets going on sale. :)
