Question, if anyone cares to answer: why is pit road sometimes only open to lead lap cars?

The first lap it's open it's for lead lap cars, the second lap is for lap down cars or anybody else. On a a "quicky" yellow everybody can pit when it opens.

When the yellow comes out the pits are closed, As soon as they feel it is safe they open pit road and lead lap cars are the only ones allowed to pit the first time around. After that the rest can pit.

Everyone says without the Cup guys no one would show up for Nationwide races. You have two of the biggest Cup guys and the stands are still mostly empty.

Most likley saftey reasons. Possibly since they aren't racing on the same lap, why screw up the lead lap cars.
In other words I have no friggen idea.
