they have a 2AM curfew? for some reason that strikes me as funny

why start a race when they don't think they can finish it?

Especially when they (Nascar) has given away 5 points. :D

@ be9, why would they want to race till 2AM? people do have lifes. I for once wouldn't wait till 2AM for any type of racing.

:p @ reck.

I would wait and have waited until 3 and 4 am for a good dirt track race, but I wouldn't for an asphalt race.

So, why did they start it?? Radar plainly said "the rain is here." They knew they were not going to get this race in. :)

NASCAR makes every attempt to get the race in before calling it. If you don't believe me ask NASCAR. They will tell you they are men of their word. LOL:beerbang:

Because Mother Nature is in on NASCAR's conspiracy. How else could they guarantee Jeff would lead a lap and get 5 pts...

NASCAR does PLAY God, they just PAY him!

Man that will be the 5 points Jeffy beats Johnson for the championship. Look for it at the end. :bounce:

I don't understand why they do it like that.
The laps count but you can't pass anybody
Doesn't make sense to me.
Why even stick the green out there to begin with?

Nascar Rules. NO PASSING UNDER CAUTION!!!!!!

Has anyone ever been at an intersection where a yellow and green light were on at the same time???
The yellow and the green at the same time is counter-productive. :D

The yellow and green means SLOW DOWN AND GO THE HECK ON. :beerbang:

Ok, Nascar time to call it quits.

I am waiting for these people to say when and at what channel are they showing the race tomorrow.

No Reck, you don't get it. Nascar don't tell the fans till they have to sit in the rain for at least 4-6 hours. I have sat in alot of them at Bristol. ;)

Uh ok, but lets say the rain stops around 10PM..by then, it'd be to late because of the 2AM curfew.

Anyway Jeff Gordon said that his car races better during day time so running it tomorrow during the day ain't so bad after all. ;)

Supposed to rain till around 1pm tomorrow. But whaterver time they get it going there are just 3 words I have to say: Let's Go JEFFY!!!

There we go..Race postponed..finally.

And they said the laps they ran tonight don't count? There starting at 0 ?

Yeah, since they didn't reach half way (200 laps) they will reset the laps.

I'm glad they are running it tomorrow.

That's how they used to running it before so its all good.

Royal/Jim Stewart 400 was postponed until Sunday because of heavy rain Saturday night at Richmond International Raceway.

The 400-lap event will start at 1:15 p.m. EDT.

The drivers took 12 laps - all under caution - before the rains came Saturday. Those laps will not count, and the race will start from the beginning Sunday. :bounce: The parking lots will open at 6:30 a.m., while the grandstands will open at 10 a.m.

This was the first postponed Nextel Cup race since Talladega in April 2006.

That is an extra 9 miles they ran.

I am not sure but I think the rule is: If they do not actually turn them loose under green the laps do not count. Had they turned them loose then the rain had come then the laps would have stood.
