Oklahoma Tornado Outbreak

I hope that's all we get. It's still 2+ hours away from here. Wish it would come on and get out of here.
It looked bad when it came thru.Dark nasty clouds but mainly alot of rain for about 30 mins.Plus the temp dropped about 10 degrees

The severe t'storms on the south end of the line are aimed for my county. The closest is just hitting Waco, that 2 hours drive to my WSW. It may take 3+ hours for it to get here. The one south of Waco is also sort of headed my direction. *sigh*

TLR stay safe don't take any chances what would we do here without you. Who would keep an eye on the kindergarten? Stay safe.

Thank you for the link. I have done what I can with somewhat of a fixed income due to a disability.
I encourage everyone on this forum to take a look at the link and give what you can, there are lots of choices of who to donate to. Everything from the Red Cross to area churches.
Remember these people have lost everything.
Stay out of harms way to TRL and all of our members in the area.

Hunker down in a safe place, you've been through this many times before, you know what you're doing.

Think the worst has passed, and I'm still here. :) Got the dogs in just before it hit, so they are dry and a little less stressed. Both are shedding like crazy, but at least it's not wet. LOL Our storms never went to severe, thank goodness.

Very good news, indeed.

Yahoo, glad to hear it.

I'm so glad that my folks moved out of Moore a year and a half ago. They lived in the OKC area for more than 40 years ago and saw plenty of tornado activity. They did have a storm cellar at their home just east of Toby Keith's home but later moved into Moore at a senior citizens community where there is a big vault that can be used in case of a tornado.

I was watching a report on NBC where some bank workers took shelter in the vault, and it was the only thing left on the slab. I seem to recall a similar situation in Joplin.

Another Tornado outbreak, Oklahoma City area, looks like multiple tornadoes on the ground right now. two fatalities reported.

yeah I saw a picture of a storm chaser car, it was a mess, so far I haven't seen other pics, but they are saying at the Tulsa stations that the airport is shut down in OKC, they have evacuated the terminal and went underground

3 members of the TWISTEX crew lost their life. They were with the weather channel team I believe.

they might be the three that were doing tornado research. They had a regular car instead of an armored tornado vehicle. Another storm chaser car was caught, but they all lived to tell about it. Flooding did a tremendous amount of damage this storm besides the tornadoes. The tornadoes were smaller, less population too thank God,but the rain wasn't. There were two small ones by me, they stayed on the ground for a long time, but they were in a rural area so the damage was light, but the fear factor sucks.

See my reply above yours.

The weather channel crew is the one TRL linked to.

I am not confused, that bunch was doing Tornado research. There are quite a few around here this time of year. A lot have armored vehicles driving around they use to take readings

Reed Timmer does research in the Dominator 1, 2, and 3. Sean Casey's TIV 1 and 2 are strictly for IMAX recording and have no instrumentation. They are the only chasers with purpose built downforce vehicles.

The TWISTEX crew did research out of what I believe was a silverado 1500 with camper shell. Each probe is 150 pounds and the size of a portable generator. Many crews do a similar operation.
