Nascar is more popular(in the U.S.) than every other series.  Someone would have results and post them somewhere.  I just like to watch live events.

Again, it doesn't happen with every other series of racing, why would it be any different?

Watching a race that has already taked place 5 hours ago kinda sucks.

So your whole opinion is based on your personal preference of how you watch the race on TV.

Not a very good argument as to why you feel NASCAR shouldn't run in other countries. How about some valid arguments...

There would be more Americans going to international races, and they would send e-mail to friends after the races with results.

How many americans go to Formula 1 races overseas? or Cart races overseas?

Just forget it. I'm not going to change how I feel and you won't either.

Hundreds of thousands.

Not much, I plan on it next season to learn about the different series out there.
I just figured Europeans were more into
Formula 1 and Cart, and some different types of road racing.

maybe I should shut up

Europeans are, in fact, more interested in F1, CART, Formula3000, AMA, Superbikes, GP, Touring, LeMans etc etc...

And you know why? Because those styles of racing are there and they can go see it.

They don't like NASCAR because it's only here, and for whatever reasons, the majority of Americans are scared to see NASCAR go overseas. Maybe, just maybe, if NASCAR were to race overseas Europeans would see that it isn't just dumb rednecks driving around in circles in front of a bunch of bigots. I mean, they haven't got any reasons to think otherwise.

Good point, maybe some exhibition style to begin with. They have any short tracks? Would it be only road courses?

They plan on running some exhibition races over there. Russia has a few ovals and NASCAR is currently thinking of going over there to strut their stuff.

It's funny when talk of a NASCAR driver testing an F1 car is brought up, everyone is all for it. But when a Japanese driver or an Austrian driver wants to come to NASCAR people get all uptight about it.

I have no problem with anyone foreign racing in Cup. They are probably better than some racers in Cup right now.

Actually, I have thought it over. I have changed my mind on point races over there. I think it is a good idea, as long as the races can be shown live here and maybe the drivers could learn some english so we can understand them. I didn't know that there were so many fans outside the U.S.

I dont understand that either, american cars are sold throughout dozens of countrys, heck most "amercian cars" are not even made in america. I don't see what it would hurt.

paul are there any americans in auto racing right now, that you think have the ability to race in f1 at a competitive level???

hardscrabble posted a link to pics of the bolshoi bombshell way early in the thread. Dark Russian women have a look all their own.

As for the races being where ever they might be. doesn't matter to me much at all except that I think taking points races outside the country adds to the expense and limits the abillity of the smaller teams to compete. I would not be in favor of it.

Nope, that was Leilani Munter, another one to be wary of...

If you can drive, you can drive. It doesn't matter whether you are male or female, ugly or beautiful. And the article I read in Men's Journal on her, she seems like a girl that's very serious about her racing.

Just joking, fun intended...
That's why he is one of the best Harvick fans ever:)

Not picking on abooja, but, such a double standard. If men like a "Hot" looking woman driver they get bashed, then on the other hand, it's cool for a women to drool over their "hot" male driver....

Not a double standard, not really...First of all, there are very few "hot" male drivers, in my opinion. I don't normally drool on the ones I do like, only when prodded (as in this thread). More importantly, I wish the female drivers were getting this level of attention because of their skill, not their looks. -- I know, it's ironic because I like Dale Jr. and all, but he's not all about his looks.

Leilani Munter may be a perfectly respectable race car driver, but is that really why she was featured in a semi-nude spread in Esquire magazine? I think not. :)

Marketabillity. While any old ugly dude may be just fine for Schneider's Electric, the same cannot be said for the a lady driver in the Hooters car.

Yes, marketability. They can sell products. Jamie McMurray can sell products. Jimmie Johnson can sell products. Jeff Gordon can sell products. They are young, they are good looking. Same can be said for any of these female drivers-- just the fact that they are female should be reason enough for companies to sponsor them. Maybe, just maybe we will see a woman win a winston cup race! That will be a day in history!

:D

Didn't mean to make ya think I meant you Abooja;)

I was referring to the double standard that exists because some drivers are men and some are women.

LadyCroft, that would be a great day indeed, I gotta feeling it's coming soon, somewhere down the road!

No need at all to apologize, Dr. I'm just being defensive because I don't want these stinkin' perfect 10's distracting all the drivers.

Yeah, that's it... ;)
