Word is the 32 Fas Lane Racing entry has a new 3 yr sponsorship deal. Frank Stoddard and Terry Labonte will be able to race full time and not have to start and park. It appears that their efforts to keep fielding a race team have paid off. Congrats to them , so sad for the anti start and park folks.

Yep, very good to hear. From Jayski:

FAS Lane Racing announces a new three year sponsorship agreement with OXYwater. The Ultimate Healthy Hydration Beverage will be the Primary Sponsor on the #32 FAS Lane Racing Ford for 24 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races this season and continue for the entire 2014 and 2015 seasons. The #32 OXYwater Ford will debut this weekend in the running of the Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway with two-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion Terry Labonte behind the wheel. OXYwater is a dynamic young company that features an oxygen-enhanced mineral water.

I like to see this kinda thing. Good luck to'em.

Good to hear but Ted if you really think they are going to be a "contender" you are sadly mistaken.I'll say Top 30 finishes for the year.May get lucky at a RP track.

Just being able to race and not have to start and park is great for them . Top tens will come when they get a Budweiser or Miller on the car.

At least they will be out there to compete more often.

Maybe they can stop putting the Schrades and labontes of the world in it now

Breaking News: A NASCAR team headed to the track to race! What a concept!

Now that they have a sponsor hopefully they'll find some talent that can get them some decent finishes. I'm sure RP tracks and road courses will be the best chance for some solid finishes.

The 3 top 20's are part of the 4 plate track numbers? So what was his fourth finish?
In that race Carl Edwards finished 31st , Jeff Gordon finished 33rd , Jimmie Johnson finished 35th and Ryan Newman finished 36th. .I think Terry did a great job. For those of you who are too young to remember , he has been written off before and come back to win a championship.

that was a premature write off. This one is horribly late.

I would think that his job description says , first ..make the show , second ..don't wreck the race car ...third ..finish as high as the car will get you . There aren't many new kids that can meet those objectives.

I've always liked Terry and I hope that this development helps him to some decent performances!
I'm not expecting greatness but it's good to have another full-time RACE TEAM at the track!

Congrats!

Boy you are pulling way back for that one.

More like 1 use up your Past Champ status 2 Finish as high as you can without tearing up the car 3 DON"T wreck the car.

Another? Even by your description for Terry you can still call that racing?

Well, I guess no team with higher aspirations wanted them.

Aside from Labonte having a past champion's provisional to use, I can't see why a sponsor would want him on the car.

Terry last won 10 years ago Schrader 20 something neither is competitive

Welcome to the forum Quackjack , looks that way . What do you think ? I would imagine there will be a lot of free agents lobbying for the ride next year.

Not to sound skeptical but I don't see anything that says they WON'T start and park. Also, isn't Terry the only driver who does start and park in that car?

that's an odd thing to say when talking about FAS lane racing.
Don't think so at all . Every racer I've ever seen tried to do the most he could with the equipment that he had . Watched guys like Dave Marcis and J.D. McDuffie struggle just to make races for years .

Actually ,back in the day , these guys were not only repected by the other racers but by the fans as well. Fans today only have time for the top ten.

So it's not just the start and parks y'all don't like , it's all the underfunded teams that can't finish top ten?
Just calling it like I see it.They do have a sponsor for this year and the next 2?So not underfunded.Terry is just wasting a spot for a young driver to be able to show his skills? It just gets me how people act like Terry is really going to race "this time" because they got a sponsor? The only place he will finish anywhere but the back will be a RP or road coarse.Even a blind squirrel will find a nut at a RP race.

It's uncomfortable watching a once good driver limp around the track. I guess it's hard to know when to hang it up.

I know that you won't be diappointed in their finishes ,they likely will be poor. The sponsor is not exactly a fortune 500 company ,and they are virtually starting from scratch . But I like Frankie Stoddart and I was always a LaBonte fan , so I for one will be pulling for them.

It's a right they have earned . DW did it , Rusty did it ,Richard Petty did it and a lot more . There are others besides the Labontes ' out there doing it . But the sponsors love the big names . And the owners can't even race without a sponsor. Don't worry , next season there will be a line up of free agents for that ride and a tough decision will have to be made.
