EASTMAN, Ga. -- The Dodge County sheriff's office says an Eastman man was found dead under a car, and investigators believe he was trying to steal the catalytic converter.
The sheriff's office says emergency workers were called to an abandoned garage Sunday morning and found 46-year-old Mark Rowland dead underneath a BMW.
The Telegraph reports Dodge County Coroner Joe Smith says Rowland had been dead for up to 10 hours before he was found.
Investigators say Rowland was in possession of mechanical tools and a flashlight and had already partially unhooked the converter when it fell off a jack stand and crushed him.
