After Jeff's comments regarding Casey Mears, Chip Ganassi is quoted as saying:

"Please tell me his legacy to the sport in the latter years of his career is not whining about crashing out of 21st place."

Read the fulll story here

Jeff Gordon  I cant stand him.
I was watching the race and heared him say that about his spotter. Jeff Gordon crys too much, it kinda gets on your nerves(well mine). He thinks he has to have everything.

Has anyone notcied that Jeff Gordon and Jimmy Johnson look alike and talk similar. I dont know if it's just me, but that really bugs the crap out of me. Like team owner like driver...lol

LOL, I can see some Jeff Gordon fans getting their panties in a bunch, well the ones at thatsracin.com, not here. We have a higher class of posters here which I really like, which is why I post here, and not at the "other" site.

Is this better...I kinda thought I shouldnt have but oh well its gone

Luv4, I really don't think you need to go there.

Just a friendly piece of advice.
Especially since we have NEVER seen Jr. with a female! :p

well he's good looking (I use to think Gordon was).

Nah were not going...I just put it when I shouldnt have.

Yep, having a high-post per day count, starting arguments with members of the board, brings me back to those days....

As a matter of fact, Junior had a very lovely young lady friend at Texas this year.

So. a little friendly advice, let's not pursue this further.

Yes we have! He's with his sister all the time. ;)

 Ok well he's just taking it at a slow pace, no telling how many gold diggers are out there.

Sure, Jeff was upset and who wouldn't be! I'm not going sink low enough to sit in Gnassi's shadow.

Thats odd, its seems that another driver I know of does the same thing...only worse. I wonder who it could be??

...Ill give you a small hit, his car number is to zeros on top of each other...

Oh I remember that guy... It was Jack Sprague right ?
lol, ya it was Jack Sprague ;) <_<

IF only he drove the number 8 in the truck series...I wonder who drives it in the Cup??

Well this one is so hard to figure out...could it possibly be Jr.? :D

LOL, a good example of the Veterans toying with the Rookies! :p

Yes you are awsome_bill ;) (trying to do a wink there) *WINK*

I really don't think that Jeff does alot of complaining. I think that it is so many rookies out there now that he and alot of the other older drivers are not yet adjusted to watching out for them. I was really pulling for Jeff to win the last race on Labor Day, but I can not believe how happy I was to see Terry win. I was up on the bed pulling for him yesterday and I have never pulled for anybody else but Jeff. I like Terry. He is a great guy.
CONGRATULATION TERRY! GOOD JOB!.....

I guess Gnassi forgot all the bitchin' that team did when Jeff wrecked Sterling. And it is surprising, Jeff actually came out and expressed anger in stating a fact about Casey's spotter never telling Casey Jeff was there. Now Jeff remarked on that and he is whining ??? HUMMMMMMM !!!

The ironic thing is, Casey's spotter is Andy Graves, who was Jeff's roommate when Jeff was in the Busch series. Andy Graves was working for HMS at that time. When Jeff was in negotiations with BDR and Ford, Graves found out Jeff had no contract with either BDR or Ford. Graves went to Hendrick and made him aware Jeff had no contract with BDR or Ford. As they say, the rest is history.

As a sidenote to some of the comments on this thread, permit me to add,
there are times when getting older might be considered a bit of a handicap. Things like not being able to work as hard or as long as I used to. Placed on the same list is the selective memory that forgets something important right at the time you need it most.

But the one thing I can't and don't understand are the references, vague or otherwise, some "fans" use when talking about a rival driver. Sexual connotations aimed at being downright mean, nasty, back-biting, and for good measure, cruel. I know damn well those of you who make these posts wouldn't have the intestinal fortitude to face any driver and make those comments to thier face. Not sure why some "fans" get into the lower levels of decency, and really don't see where it is considered cute or humorous, but one thing for sure, it ain't necessary.

Of course, at my age there are a lot of things I don't understand and perhaps this is one of them. If there is humor in these snide and uncalled for remarks, repeated attempts asking of those who post them, to help me understand the phenomenon have never produced an answer.

And for the "self-proclaimed newbies", if you are so new at NASCAR Winston Cup, how did you accumulate such a warehouse of information on certain topics and on the other hand take the road of playing the part of "the foot-shuffling, I'm new here and don't know much ignorant routine" on others ??? Just wonderin' since a recent poster had a similar affliction.

Hey Whizzer,

Your remarks about some posters trying to plead ignorance have got me wondering about when ignorance became an accepted excuse.

If it had been in our day, I probably could have made something of my life instead of messing around with nasty old cars, trucks, bulldozers, airplanes, motorcycles and worst of all them horrible race cars.

No wonder my family has disowned me, I have no friends in the real world, the dog growls at me and the old tomcat tries to bite me all the time.
They're just a smart bunch of peoples if you ask me.

(Ooops, I forgot to include them little tractors in that bunch.)

That's very true, TRl. Sad, but true. Lets all try to keep these threads on the topics of racin' and not drivers' private lives, shall we. I think everyone would be much happier.

Guarantee ya one thing "old phart boB", them lil tractors are one heckuva lot less expensive than one itsy-bitsy-teenie-weenie race car. Ya need a wallet the size of a pillow to own one of them things.

If only I could figure out how to post pictures, I could post the one of my first win. I was so proud I took and extra lap holding the checers out the driver window to make sure the photographer got the picture.
(BiiiiiiiiiGGGGGGGGGG SMiii LE) :D

Whiz,

I don't think that I've still got any pictures of the first checker, but I sure do remember the feeling.
It was almost the same as, no it was, completely intoxicating.
And after all these years, the memory still brings back the feeling all over again.
Great feeling it is, too. Really great, and to have been fortunate enough to know the experience.

Lucky old goats, ain't we?

Obviously, you were wrong. But, welcome aboard anyway.

I'm sure Jeff is staying up at night worrying about what Chip Ganassi thinks
