Ouch

"I had no idea he was there, and then boom, I hit him," Mears said

so maybe spotter comment was right, even mears talks like he wasnt told, but gordon is whinning some how  you guys wouldnt be mad if a car turned up into you for no reason?

Always had a lot of respect for Chip....but in this case he would have been better off keeping his yap shut. What he had to say was first off just plain inaccurate and secondly, stupid.

Like the Whiz says, seems I recall a few comments about the Sterling - Gordon incidents from the Ganassi camp.

But the worst part of his statement, IMO, is the crashing out of 21st place remark. What the hell difference does it make what postion yer running in if someone runs over ya? Is Chip trying to say that if ya ain't in the top ten it makes no difference if yer car gets torn up, ya get knocked out of any chance for a decent finish, or maybe get yerself banged up? Hope he remembers that little tidbit of racing insight next time one of his cars is struggling on the track........which will likely be next week at Richmond.

I have to agree with you HS, but sometimes things are said in the heat of the moment.

However, even though I am a Gordon fan, I can see some humor in the Ganassi quote.

A lot of the comments are made in the heat of the moment. There are team owners who P & M on everything they consider a "wrong" no matter how insignificant (do the names Roush or Childress racing bring any flashbacks?? ) and it ain't just them.

Every team or driver has at one time or another done the ole urine and gutteral sound thing. The difference is, it depends on who they are.

While on camera, Matt Kenseth jumps on his crew chief and Matt's fans say he is "telling it like it is" and under similar circumstances, when Jeff Gordon makes the same comment, "he's whining", so what's the difference ???

It's the driver Jack, it's the driver !!!!!!!!!

No one, me included, should be overly sensitive on remarks thrown in the heat of the moment. Every one of us at one time or another has responded to a question or accusation in anger and regretted it later. Why just yesterday, my response to my bride when she said something about leaving the toilet seat up and my reply was,....... well, maybe I'd better not go there 'cause that would mean I would have to tell you what her response was and I can tell ya, it wasn't anything that would make a good childrens story.
Actually ,I'm kidding.
I learned the second week of marriage to lift the seat. It took twenty years to remember to put it back down. WHAT DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH RACING ???
You should see how fast I race to the bathroom if I think I forgot !!!!

LOL Whizzer. Alot of marital problems could be solved only if the lady of the house knew the seat had a standard hinge on it. It goes up and down just as easy as the door opens and closes.
