So much for all the retirement talk....

UPDATE2: Panasonic has expanded its relationship with Hendrick Motorsports with a new multi-year agreement that includes primary sponsorship of the #24 team of four-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion and current points leader Jeff Gordon. Panasonic will be featured as a primary sponsor of the #24 team in two Sprint Cup races annually and as an associate-level partner in all other events. It will mark the first on-car branding for Panasonic since joining Hendrick Motorsports as a technology partner in 2007. The agreement covers the 2014, 2015 and 2016 NASCAR seasons. Gordon's #24 Panasonic Chevrolet SS will debut this weekend at California's Sonoma Raceway and will again appear Aug. 31 at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Panasonic's Toughbook brand will be featured on the car's quarter panels at Sonoma. Panasonic will leverage the partnership to promote technology solutions and products for business. Hendrick Motorsports currently utilizes Panasonic technology throughout its Concord facility, including cameras, electronic displays, televisions, digital signage, Toughbook computers and projection units. The team also uses Panasonic's professional video products to support its in-house video production capabilities.(HMS), see images of the scheme on the #24 Team Schemes page.(6-17-2014)

Weird to see a scheme like this on the #24.

Congrats to Jeff Gordon and the 24 team. . In an era when new major sponsorships are a rare commodity , they have landed a big name company. Says a lot about a race team and a race car driver .

Surprising considering the uncertainty of when Gordon will step down. Will Panasonic feel has good sponsoring Chase.

I dont really think paint schemes have become basic, myself. I think alot of it is that teams just use the same template even for multiple sponsors.

It depends I guess. Like Jr usually has awesome schemes, but this week his KBB scheme is basic.

Awesome that Gordon can still get new primary sponsors when its so hard to find them.

I know Im gonna get him & KK mixed up on the track this weekend. God forbid they run one two.

Ever notice how all HMS paint schemes look similar nowadays? Seems like all four either drive a predominantly blue scheme (Kahne, Johnson Kobalt, Gordon Panasonic) or white (Dale Jr, Johnson)

Circumstance. Look @ the sponsors & their logo colors.
