Parts from the 48 car

Depending on how much weight we are talkin here as far as the cover goes...that could explain why it looked like jimmy was having issues sunday. If they had to take it off and didnt get a chance to rescale the car could of been off from what they had been running.
If thats the case thats slick as **** of knaus to think of that. Call it cheating but if you aint cheating you aint winning in this sport. You gotta play in the gray area.

But if its just a change in the gauge of steel it is a no story. Some guys do that just for extra protection from a broken drive shaft. But then we could ***** about nascar contradicting its "safety" initiative.

Evernham also said that the rule said a minimum weight of ---- and nothing about a maximum weight. He also added that a max would probably be added now.

Here is the problem I have:

Evernaham says it was confiscated because it was heavier gage metal.

Dr. Jerry Punch says the cover was too heavy so to get weight lower on the car they were told to replace it.

NASCAR said they told them to replace it because it had stress cracks.

Who do you guys believe?

It sounds a little too "fishy" to me, but then again we are talking Nascar, they do what they want, and the hell with what people think, or in some instances even....what is right.
