Not a driver, but probably one of the best engine designers ever, died on Tuesday at age 82.
He is best known for designing BMWs Formula One engines in the 80s, Nelson Piquet won the World Championship with a Brabham-BMW in 1983.
He also designed the BMW M70 engine, that won the 24 hours of Le Mans with the McLaren F1 in 1995 and the BMW V12 LMR in 1999.
