good so glad to hear that......your stuck with us, and we're stuck with you buddy........:D

We can't let little things come between any of us.That is what keeps us strong.:)

Oh boy, I've missed my first fight! :) :) One thing is for certain, and yer right wrangler, ya either love him or hate him. I think that is one of the things that was so unique about ol Ironhead. About the only other one who comes close to that is Jeffy and I do believe that was all started by the DE fans. They just couldn't stand to see some little snot nosed kid come around and whip his butt! I loved it.:)

Buck, I have tried to come up with an impartial way to "prove" my guy was the best ever NASCAR race car driver......I've failed miserably in that attempt.:) Using stats just doesn't do it.....I keep coming up with a wash on all the past "legends" with comparing the number of starts vs wins, poles, championships, etc.:) . When you figure in good old Jeffie, with only ten years of racing, the little turkey is looking like he will kick all the "legends" butts in another ten years!:) Not really disturbing to me though.......Jeffie's just good! How can anyone say otherwise?

But Dale Earnhardt Sr is still my most favorite ever!!:)

Wrangler, I know what you mean. My brother-in-law still roots for Richard Petty! :) He'll never switch to another driver unless his name is Petty. Some Earnhardt fans are like that. They want Jr. to be as good as his old man, but I'm not sure he will ever live up to that. Sure, Jr. is a good driver and may someday win the title, but I believe that's a way off down the road. All of this comes down to a question I've always asked people...why do you like your favorite driver? I have always thought it was because that guy was a winner when they started watching the sport. In fact, most find their favorite just that way, but it's not always that way. Because of that, people are really loyal to their favs, no matter what happens. It takes a big screw up by their fav for them to trash him for someone else. One more thing about hating old DE. Just like in any other sport, when a man gets older and begins his decline in the sport, people begin to feel sorry for him and may actually begin to root for him. Many people did exactly that when Dale finally won the Daytona 500. At the time, Dale was in a decline and wasn't seen as a big threat to the fans anymore. Jeffy had come along and had stolen Dale's thunder. However, it seemed that when Dale won that 500, it boosted his will and he went on to win again and win big. One thing about it, when a driver is announced and he gets either a big boo, or a big yeah, he's a winner. It's when he doesn't garner a noise that he knows he's an also ran.

I guess I'm stupid here because I don't get the point of this thread. Bumpin and bangin is racin. If you are a fan of it you can't complain when it happens to your driver. You can't like the bumpin and bangin but get mad when your driver gets touched.
