Read on Jayski, Finch won't say who he sold it to. Apparently the new owner will make an announcement Friday or Monday. Finch is apparently assisting them until Atlanta because They've never owned a race team.

Watch this new guy run a 23 year old team into the ground. Hope I'm wrong.

I hope you're wrong too. The sport doesn't need someone running any team into the ground . I'm sure Mr. Finch and Nascar have confidence in these good folks .

Definitely too early to pass judgement but generally, I'm a pessimist when it comes to change in this sport..

Ha, yeah but it always works out. I think I'm just gonna miss the one owner who totes around a ****tail in a red cup. lol

Terry Labonte was rumored to be a potential buyer for Finch's team. I wonder if he's the one that bought it?

Linda Hendrick bought Phoenix and says she intends to expand to 4 cars in 2014.

I guess it's a good sign that someone want's to come into the sport.

Well it DID get bought. That means that it won't shut down after Indy...

The Jayski article also said they had a sponsor and driver lined up too.

Terry Labonte as owner featuring up and coming driver Bobby Labonte, with Grey Power associates as sponsor

Well whatever the case may be, I hope Finch has a good retirement from racing and a great time with the grand kids.
I love racing and I realize a few owners make big money, but the odds are incredibly slim for owners, and I think it is insane to believe you can earn a living owning a team.
In my opinion Finch gave a lot more than he got in return.
As tough as Kurt Busch's 2012 was, it still can be said that Finch threw him a life line, and kept him in Sprint Cup racing

When Brad won at Talladega it was a great underdog accomplishment, but I was more happy about Finch getting fhe win.
Finch is old school, party hard, and race hard. He will be missed.

If what I'm hearing is true, I don't think most people are going to have a problem with this move. It won't affect the racing elite, but I do think it'll do more good than bad.

LaBonte denied the rumors.

Well said Greg , Finch will be missed . As will a number of owners in the near future , guys like Roush , Childress , Gibbs , Petty and Hendrick are aging . I don't see them being replaced by younger owners . Perhaps it will be by Boards of Directors , it'll be interesting to see how that works .

Rousch's Son already runs day-to-day i think.
Jeff will probably take over HMS when he retires
J.D. Gibbs already runs day-to-day at JGR
Petty is slowly nudging towards the door...I don't see much of a legacy plan there
Childress has a ways to go.

My guess is Turner bought it. He was rumored to have been interested. Also Finch says the new owners have never run cup before. Makes it sound like they are already in Nascar, just not Cup. Also Turner wouldn't have issues finding a Sponsor or Driver right now.

Put Larson or Buescher in it and let her eat!

Mike Dillion is running day to day at RCR I thought?

Also I don't think Petty has full control of RPM. Isn't he just a face right now? I am sure he has some pull, but not full control.

Larson is Ganassi's driver.

Ganassi doesn't have an open seat though, Larson drivers for Turner in N'wide.. Why not warm him up for Chip in Cup?

EDIT: late night rambling.. The kid doesn't need Cup yet... But still it would be interesting to see what he could do in the 51 sled.

UPDATE 3: Phoenix Racing owner James Finch confirmed Thursday night that he has sold his team - though he would not disclose to whom. Although Finch elected not to divulge the names of the new owners, FOX Sports reported on June 29 that Harry Scott, co-owner of Turner Scott Motorsports, will partner with a group that also includes current sponsor Brandt, which supports the racing efforts of NASCAR Nationwide Series driver Justin Allgaier, to buy the team. Brandt is an agricultural retailer and manufacturer based in Springfield, Ill., and has backed Allgaier since 2011. The 27-year-old Riverton, Ill. native, who is currently fourth in the NNS point standings, is expected to drive the #51 Chevy over the final 10 races of the season. While A.J. Allmendinger was expected to compete in six of the final seven races for Phoenix Racing, Finch said he wanted the opportunity to continue "showcasing the talent" of aspiring NASCAR racers as well. Australian Owen Kelly, 36, who finished fourth at Elkhart Lake in the Nationwide Series Road America race on June 22 driving for Joe Gibbs Racing, will make his Cup debut in the #51 Chevy at Watkins Glen on Aug. 11. Ryan Truex, 21, was scheduled to make his Cup debut with Phoenix at Dover prior to breaking his shoulder blade on March 31. Finch plans on running Truex at Bristol on Aug. 24.(Fox Sports)(7-20-2013)

Well I got the owner right, just the wrong driver/sponsor combo.

This is the latest that is on Jayski:

Scott has also said that Piquet was going to race in Cup. Pretty confusing, Piquet isn't doing that well in N'wide, I guess there could be a two car team, Algaier and Piquet? Heck I don't know.

So if its Turner/Scott will they continue their alliance with HMS in Cup?

Good for Allgaier if true he seems like a good kid, I think he deserves an opportunity although I doubt he does much but we'll see. Has Allgaier run any Cup races as of yet?

Don't they, or didn't they have a alliance with HMS in NNS? I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Rick had his hand in the deal.

All of that would leave AJ on the market again. Would it not?

that's what it sounds like to me, if Finch doesn't own the team anymore, the new owner puts his driver(s), whoever they may be in the car.

I am not very good at reading between the lines, but possibly looks like Finch may stick around for a bit and help them make a transition? At least until the chase starts? Then it looks like Turner takes over. Hmm..
