The first lap saw Terry English take to the lead followed by Phil Walker and Ed Dixon. Dixon would take the second position from Walker on lap two. Walker would pull out of the race completely by lap four. Dixon would see a close up of the tail end of English’s car, and would challenge for the lead. While he made his charge Dixon would tag the wall. This would allow English some breathing room, but Dixon would regain this lost ground in just two laps. Riding behind them would be Joe Morris.

The first caution would be brought out by Don Edwards hitting the front stretch wall. Dixon would pop the wall hard on the restart, but it didn’t matter as the next caution was called on the restart lap. This caution was brought out by James Burrell spinning in turn one. The restart saw English and Dixon take to the point. Behind them Kenny Schrader was making some noise passing Rodney Melvin and making a run towards third place of Morris. Schrader would take third on lap fifteen, and set his sites for the second position.

Dixon would find himself right behind English on lap sixteen but lap traffic would allow English to gain a car length advantage over Dixon. Dixon would pull his nose right to English’s rear end on lap nineteen and try to make the pass for the lead, he would not be able to make this stick. With three laps to go Dixon would pull off the track with car troubles. Schrader would now be running in second and gaining on English.

Terry English would take a hard earned checkered flag, after battling off a hard charging Ed Dixon and Kenny Schrader for the win.

I think if there were 5 more laps English would have had to deal with Schrader!

on a restart Kenny Wallace got to to his spot, and the guy he got in front of passed him back because he thought it was in front of kenny, so kenny wallace just floored it and pushed him down the track! (Open Wheel Modified)

UMP Open Wheel Modified Feature Event
Scott Weber would take the early lead, but further in the pack the two cars would cause the first caution of the race. Tim Walker would hit the wall coming out of two and Jeff Elliott would get smacked in the rear end sending him into the infield. The restart saw the second caution of the race, with Jeff Cherry, George Herrter, Ricky Waggoner, and Justin Cherry all got together on the front stretch.

The next restart saw a complete lap, with Scott weber leading and Matt Mevert following in a distant second. Tim Walker would begin to battle Mevert for the second position. On lap five the next caution would be brought out by Randle Sweeney spinning in turn two. The restart to this caution had Weber and Mevert break away from the field.

The next caution would come out on the next lap by Lloyd Lingle spinning in four. On the restart Kenny Schrader would bring out the caution after getting loose and spinning in turn four. The restart once again had Weber in the lead, with Mevert catching up at a rapid pace. Behind him was Jim Shereck and Kenny Wallace racing for third and fourth.

The caution would be brought out on lap nine due to Tim Walker spinning in turn four. Weber and Mevert would battle for the first and second positions on the restart while Shereck and Wallace raced for third and fourth. On lap eleven Mevert would get high and fall away from the leaders. On the white flag lap Weber was too far ahead to catch, he would take his advantage and win the feature event.
