Playoffs/Texas Pre-Race Thread

One of the worst calls NASCAR has made all year is letting the 47 change tires and try again after spinning on their out lap. It’s an advantage to go out later in qualifying. Group B outruns group A every week. Why not spin on the out lap every time if you have an early qualifying run?
I believe he didn't run a lap.

Yeah that's a stupid rule. Almost as stupid as letting the drivers waive their runs off on the warmup as was relatively regular in the late 00s as far as I recall.

Once the car leaves pit road, you should have to make your qualifying run no matter what save for NASCAR needing to put out a caution for the car in front of you.

The gerbils mistakenly thought they were race control. They don't control anything but their yappy mouths. They obviously didn'tt know what the rules were and they ran their mouths until somebody told them different.

If they ran them one by one there is still an advantage, and if they ran them all at the same time they wreck. :idunno:

Qualifying is showcasing how retarded this "group" system is. Guys like Larson and Jones were faster than all of the top 5 in the first group, yet sit out the second round.
Not really, I thought it was track evolution which may have played a small role. Whomever was faster over a lap found more speed. Unfortunately, Larson and Jones did not.

Wallace and Buescher on the front row...look at RFK

Well they got by with one lap qualifying for decades until they started this gimmick, one of many in Cup these days. No other sanctioning body has such nonesense I am aware of.

Xfinity still went one and done which is the way it should be IMHO.

F1 and IndyCar have similar systems. NASCAR and the RTA agreed on this ruling. Have to point at the team owners who unanimously decided on this way of practice and qualifying to be upset at. Drivers are playing with the hands their dealt.

That's news to me since I don't follow F1 or Indy cars much these days and was referring mainly to stock bodied cars. I also didn't realize the team owners decided on this, which makes no sense to me. But it is what it is I guess. I still say it's nothing more than a gimmick with no purpose except to add manufactured drama.

*Shrugs* back at ya.

I understand entirely.

I just hope the race is better than yesterdays. Get out of the groove and you either hit the wall or go backwards.

Happy race day!

Toyota this, Toyota that, Toyota everything
Hear what you wanna hear I believe.

The broadcast doesn't ever have any manufacture bias. Or any bias for that matter, tbh.

They just are obnoxious.
