Please write off these loans for the HoF

This place has sounded like a bust for a few years now.

Regarding the actual HoF, I think at some point they need to stop inducting five people per year or eventually they're going to seriously dilute the quality of the classes.

For the HoF Class of 2020, Danica Patrick, Austin Dillon, Josh Wise, Back Marker Driver A, and Concession Stand Guy at Martinsville,

Once they get Anne B France, Brian, Lisa, and finally Ben in on a trust fund motion, it will has all the prestige, pomp, and umph there it is needed to be self sustaining.

As far as I'm concerned the concession stand guy at Martinsville deserves induction into the HoF. Those hotdogs are great!

Oh I know, I always order two of those dogs whenever I go to a race at M-Ville. :D

Ive heard this place was a complete joke of a museum. I was so excited to finally go, but then I heard it was a waste of time. Very disappointing.

Apparently, 230,000 other people thought the same.

I've heard good things about it, I know they have an iRacing set-up as to where you can race head to head with your friends.

I've also talked to several people that have been there that really liked it. The only board member that I know that went is @Matthew2470 He probably has an opinion on it.

out of town casual fan........hhhmmmm.....should i visit my favorite drivers actual race shops ( museum)......or hof . ??
guess what they prolly pick.

Format! Format! Format! It is everything, the end all be all.

Nominate 16 potential HoF candidates each year.
Eliminate 4 per per quarter, Spring, Summer, and Fall and that leaves you with the four inductees.
The Fab four and final four every year.

I know you were joking, but, I actually kind of like this idea.

The HOF is great. The single problem it has is being too expensive. Cut the price in half or more and make more money.

I liked the HOF. I wish I'd have spent more time there. Tickets are relatively cheap considering how much there is to see and do.

Never understood the need in the first place.
'Cause all the major sports have one, so if you have one then you're a major sport by default. Or so the Powers That Be keep telling themselves.

I'm only a couple of hours from it and know a couple of great rib joints in Charlotte, but I still haven't worked up the motivation to get up there.

The only thing in NASCAR more overrated that the HOF are those M'ville tube steaks. I've had better hot dogs from gas stations.

It was a business concept that failed. Had it been a success the banks would have made money, the city made money, Nascar makes money.

It's a failure so the banking public pays for the loss??

What ever happened to Bankruptcy and you lose everything??

Oh right now you get bailed out by banks and governments.

Sorry Charlie. WRONG! There's no better hot dog than a Martinsville Hot Dog. If you're lucky enough to be eating one that means your @ the best track on the schedule. That's what makes the Martinsville the best ever. Taste has absolutely nothing to do with it.

Let's differentiate between 'a Martinsville Hot Dog' and 'any hot dog AT Martinsville'. I agree just being there will make anything taste better, but why not start with your own chicken salad instead of the local chicken s#!t? I'll keep bringing my own grub, thanks. Being at M'ville doesn't make their hot dogs better as much as their hot dogs actually detract from the experience.

I could be standing on the rim of the Grand Canyon, but that won't help an MRE.

I've been once. It's a tad overpriced for what little it has. NASCAR's big problem is that a lot of valuable memorabilia is already in other museums or is housed in team's shops. It's slim pickings for them.

Well, museums would often "rent" pieces and memorabilia, so can't they do that?

I live less than 10 miles from it, i can hop on the light rail and ride uptown to visit it. I've never done it, price is the issue.

There are too many other things to do around here than to spend that kind of money to visit the HOF.

I wanted it here, but the money this city has wasted on it and the price it cost to get it, F it.

The NASCAR Hall of Fame admission price isn't much different than any other major sport.

How does that compare to the other museums and places like Discovery Place which is also in Charlotte, NC?

Discovery Place is $15 to get in and do the majority of the stuff, it cost extra to do IMAX.

That's your personal preference. It's not that they are overcharging though. That was my only point.

Ok, from other locals that I've talked to, that's the reason why they haven't gone either. That's just my point.

I'm not a cheapskate - I freely spend my money on NASCAR and everything else and it still seems pricey to me. Glory road is awesome. The various rooms of memorabilia are cool.... so what's the problem?
I guess there's just not enough stuff to see and do for that price (like I think @The Nature Boy said earlier). After seeing it once, I don't know that I'd pay to go again anytime soon. Well, I might go with some first timers.
