Pocono Pre Race

48 and Chad at work already getting in people's heads. lol

That's Chad for you. I only wish Alan was as agressive in his persue of making Gordon better.

If you're going to follow NASCAR's rules to the tee your cars wont find the edge it needs.

You gotta take some risks here and there.

With that said however I will agree that there needs to be some sort of limitation on how many times you can go through inspection and fail.

Failing inspection 5, 6 times seems very incredulous to me.

That only means the changes a crew chief was looking to make was a pretty big one.

That just looks wrong. Not to mention horrible.

I wish they would do something to make it look like Danica's car, just a different color. The neon green really stands out. In the video game there's a neon orange GoDaddy scheme that would be great for Tony.

48 is on the pole & the nearest Hendrick driver is 18th. They're all wadded up from 18th till 22nd. Obvious playing favorites in that stable. It's sickening.

already whining and they haven't run the race yet? and pulling out the black helio? my my. the sun had something to do with it. Jr. stunk, Gordon went early when the sun was out..Kahne..he is all over the place. This is a technical track, and technical drivers are probably going to win. 18 went out early in the sun..he's fast.

I don't know what Chad and Jimmie are doing, but with how dominant the 48 team is, they're doing something to their cars that the rest of the field is not. Maybe it's something that's legal that the rest of the field just hasn't figured out yet... who knows. But there's no way they're not doing something different.

He got enough orange when he ran the 20.

Remember the first year NASCAR ran the COT? Chad Knaus and the entire 48 team were the first to "figure the car out" so to speak. Seems like this is all just a rehashing of 07/08. Chad does his homework and seems to have an ability to find a way to gain an advantage with different car designs before the rest of the teams "catch up."

Well whatever they are doing they're not sharing with their teammates. So its either experimental, flat out cheating or just greed.

I mean for F sake, give Gordon some of that magic. Even Dalr Jr. is out running Gordon these days. lol

you ever watch the lap trackers? he gave a little away on one entry of one corner, but when he came out of that corner, compared to Kyle, he was ahead. So either Kyle drove it in too fast and lost some down the straight or JJ left some out on the track and is even faster than he qualified. JJ is the best current driver there is. He gets a good car and he drives the wheels off of it. The black helicopter people have to think the car is cheated up for some reason. Passed tech coming and going. Legal piece.

Jimmie Johnson wins a lot, ergo, he cheats.
Dale Earnhardt/Richard Petty won a lot, but dey wur good ol' boys so that's alright.
And we never went to the moon...

No, I don't think there's any cheating. With the extra tight inspections that's done on Jimmie's cars, I don't see how they could get away with cheating. I'm thinking they've found something they won't share with others. That said, there's nothing wrong with keeping info to yourself. This is a competition, where the goal is to have as big of an advantage over others as possible. Giving out info would give your competitors an advantage.

Gordon's setup is the reason why Jimmie is almost unbeatable at Martinsville.

I bet Gordon terribly regrets giving Jimmie his setup back in 07.

Gordon shared his stuff with him so common courtesy dictates he should too. Meh

Everything Gordon was dominate at has been passed down to JJ. Martinsville, plate racing, road courses, championships, calm collected interviews, now even sucking at restarts.

this race is terrible, never watch Pocono.....twice in like 6 weeks...really

Guy used to come up to Tulsa from Dallas racing sprints, Bullet Bob Euell. His car blew up in a heat race. He borrowed a guys car that didn't even make it out of the B feature. Bob came in second in the A feature. Moral of the story. It's the driver.

The 24 and the 48 shared a shop back then; now it's the 48 and the 88. The 88 team has seen an improvement from being housed in the same shop at the 48 the past couple years.

I will agree with that to an extent...some series are more dependent on crew and equipment than others. There's a noticeable gap between HMS and an organization like RCR. We're not racing IROC.

He's also probably a little butthurt that the #48 team has been able to take advantage of TRD tuning the engines down beginning with the first Pocono race. Since, JGR has fallen off and the #48 has been a threat to win everywhere except Sonoma and New Hampshire.

Problem is...no crew chief will ever run the same set up as Chad . The reason being , they want to beat him , not tie him.

I sure could use a practice session to help me decide on who to start.

Well I'm ready for Pocono...got me some turkey and red wine for the start of the race and will then just tilt back my recliner and enjoy -_-....zzzzzzzz.

You know , when I first heard people saying 'twicky twiangle ' I thought it was kinda funny . Somebody being cute . But I 'm hearing it so often I think it may be an official name change . Not likin it at all now.

I'm pretty sure the track uses it officially at the bottom of their logo now. I never heard it called that until the last couple of years.

Chad is reminding me of Flavio Briatore, finding ways to exploit the rules.

Yeah this track needs just one date. 9 out of 10 times they have to deal with rain. Its a pain in the butt.

It wont surprise me if Jimmie leads 150 out of 150 laps or however many laps they run there.

The only one who says that is Dally Dallenbach. He may have a speech impediment or something. The way he says track is wierd too. It sounds like tlstack. He cant prounounce his Rs good at all.

Although I love Danica, this is definitely not her track. Pulling for a Logano or Stewart win here.

There won't be many wrecks at Pocono, so it will be interesting to see if Danica can get a top 20.
