  • Thread starter Restrictor Plate King!
  • Start date
Back when Winston was the title sponsor they had an annual Miss Winston. I think this girls name is Shannon Wiseman & she's the host of a show now with Rusty Wallace or something like that. Kinda looks a little like Jamie Pressly..

Brooke Sealy was Miss Winston before she married Jeff Gordon.

Yeah I remember that, they met in victory lane after he won a Gatorade 125 Mile race at Daytona back in 1993.

This is an artist rendering that I found while surfin of what Jr's car may look like next season. Of course it'll be a COT car & we're not 100% sure about the sponsor but I thought it looked cool...

This is Jr with the undisputed Restrictor Plate King himself at Daytona International during speedweeks 2001. JGordon may pass him for Winston Cup points paying plate wins but he'll never catch him for overall restrictor plate triumphs...

I'm sure everyone recognizes this pic. When the Intimidator sent Jr to Military School back in the 80's, Kelly was sooo worried about him that she volunteered to join him there. Now thats a sibling that really cares & that caring has carried on through the years & still go's strong today...

You know what, it may just be me but I say they oughta just go ahead & do the swap after the Pepsi 400 & get it over with. Just swap Kyle Busch with Jr, number, sponsor & everything else, at least thats how I feel...

I agree would make everything easier for us wouldn't it. I like the artist pic of Jrs' car that is a cool paint scheme.

I live not too far from the Military Academy, which by the way is a great school and the oldest military school in North Carolina. Jr and Kelly recently made a huge dollar donation to the school.

It's not a very good picture and I can't even remember where it came from. But one of the first truly gifted drivers who's career was wasted and never to be because of drugs. I do believe he would have been one of the best if not for his being stupid.

Mikey back in either 89 or 90 with his Maxwell House/Country Time Lemonade Pontiac Grand Prix owned by Chuck Ryder.

Brett Bodine at Daytona back in 1991. This was during the Pepsi 400 that was eventualy won by Bill Elliott in his Coors Light T-Bird.

Here's old Bills starting position at the start of that Pepsi 400. He run pretty conservative all day and then came on strong right at the end holding off Geoff Bodine for the victory, his only of the year & final in a Melling car.

Awesome Bill leading at the 89 Pepsi 400. He actualy had a pretty strong car that day but things didn't work out in his favor...

Hey that Labonte car is like the first actual milestone car. Action Performance used to make these milesone 1/24 diecast for different drivers to commemerate different accomplishments they've had. I dunno if they still do since now it's Motorsports Authentics...

Saw this hauler sittin at a rest stop last year, don't much about World Of Outlaws but isn't Steve Kinser #11 and sponsored by Quaker State??...

Backside of Roush Racing in Mooresville NC. Took this pic with one of those crappy Kodak funsaver type cameras in January of 06. Let me tell all of you who are NASCAR fans if you have not been to Mooresville North Carolina then you need to plan a trip. As far as NASCAR go's, that place is Disneyland cause it's where the Majority of the Cup & Busch teams are based. Roush Racing, DEI, Hendrick Motorsports, Fitz/Bradshaw, the North Carolina motorsports museum & Charlotte Motor Speedway are all within a few minutes driving distance of eachother along with the NASCAR safety center & a really nice mall with a Bass Pro Shops.

I love all these pics!!!! Awesome topic ya done here!!!!!!

Love the pics of awesome Bill, wish i had some old pics of that Coors 9 car. That car was the bomb back in the mid to late 80s! Great pics:beerbang:

You know I have to say that I kinda like the new Dodge noses cause now they don't look like warthogs or something. Man they were ugly before...

Happier days at DEI. Victory Lane after Jr won his first of three straight Daytona 300 mile races. This one was in the RCR car that carried #3 on the door for the last time. What I had trouble figuring out was in the Busch series the number 3 belonged to DEI so why did they stop using it? Hornaday used the number back in 2000 when he drove for them then & before that Jr & Steve Park. I dunno, more respect I guess.

OK show of hands, how many people have done the Petty experience. If you haven't man go out & get'er done. I would suggest the ridealong before actualy driving the car. I felt like I was going to fly right out of the window the first time I went...

How many of you knew that IndyCars used to race at Pocono. I think this is from like 85 or 86. That's Danny Sullivan in the red #4 car with Michael Andretti on the inside of him in the 99.

Emerson Fittipaldi at Indy back in 89. That was the first year the winner of the race won over $1,000,000.00

The rivalry that inspired "Days Of Thunder". You guys know the scene in the movie when Big John has the car owners meet him with their drivers down in Daytona beach, yeah well that really happened. The owners were Rick Hendrick and Richard Childress & the drivers were Dale Earnhardt & Geoff Bodine...

Big Dale after the 1990 Atlanta Journal 500. This was the last time the race had that name, in 1991 it was changed to the Hardee's 500 and was won by Mark Martin, his only win of the season.

Everybody should recognize this wreck. It's the 1996 Talladega Diehard 500 car that Sr crashed on the frontstretch when Irvan got into the back of Marlin and spun him into the intimidator. That was the first time I had ever seen a wreck at the front of the field like that. You think you're safe from the big one being in the lead, no way...

Formerly one of my favorite IndyCar drivers, this is Paul Tracy back in 1993 at Michigan as his car came to a stop on the backstretch exhausted & dumping out coolant. In this particular race neither he nor anyone else who wasn't driving for Newman/Haas that day was competitive. Mario Andretti & Nigel Mansell combined to lead all but 1 lap out of a possible 250 laps, 500 miles.
