Post race weight gaining

This has become a pretty big game lately. My question is what are these guys doing to get significant weight out of them after pre race inspection? We back to lead radios again? Lol
 
After Gateway, there were in the grass trying to get mud/dirt/grass to stick under the car. This is an old dirt racing trick. Since they were told they couldn't do that, they're riding around where all the rubber is trying to add that to the car. I don't know if they can add enough that way to make a difference.
 
I mean they already get like 20 lbs or something post race and rubber buildup from normal racing. That means they have be taking at least 30 lbs or so out of the car at some point

They're trying to gain weight and not be underweight when they go over the scales post race The trackhouse cars literally drove through the grass at Gateway on the cool down lap trying to fill the cars with earth/grass.

The unfortunate consequences of a spec car... the "grey area" is trying to gain 5 pounds post race rather than the actual engineering of a meaningful competitive advantage.
 
i think you need to weigh about 3500 hundred pounds, so 10 to 20lbs off a car doesnt seem worth messing with.but it is NASCAR

Bugs on the windshield, an occasionally fox, rabbit or squirrel on the bumper???
 
Plenty of explanations.
Maybe he had a nice hefty breakfast and then dropped a 30 lb deuce into a baggy and handed it off during a pit stop and needed to add the weight back.
 
Back in the day, Darrel Waltrip had a squirrel named Led Belly who was trained to jump on the chassis just before crossing the scales.

Led Belly was also capable of hanging on the left side of the chassis during qualifying in order to gain more of of offset weight than the rules allowed.

Tragically, Led Belly took the weight manipulation to an extreme. Hr swallowed some Tungsten pellets that he couldn't digest, and he lost his life.

Please sign the online petition for Led Belly to be indicted into the Nascar Hall of Fame.

They're allowed to top off the fluids. Which one of the teams that failed post race tech supposedly screwed up in the past (guessing the 48 or 6). Sounds like teams were adding water instead of fuel, as it more dense to make post race weight. Well sounds like they actually added fuel and the car came up light.

I remember hearing stories in the past that allegedly the RCR guys had figured out a way to top off the oil, which miraculously took about 5 gallons.

You are aware that they did **** like this before the Next Gen, right? Remember the swerving back at forth to reconnect the track bar? ...or how about the Chain Gang rear steer at Indy....or.....or......all to engineer a competitive advantage right.....or some call it cheating? .....and before the biggest X fan @StandOnIt goes there....how about the aero tape at Pocono on MY Toyotas?
