No to tire competition. The Goodyear/Hoosier battle was a wreck because they only wanted the pole position publicity and didn't car about the race qualities of their tires. Tire blowouts were common wrecking a lot of cars. I like that one company takes the time to tailor the tires for a given track & race.

Totally disagree. Sure there were gonna be blowouts, but the Hoosiers ran up front a lot and got a few wins with Bodine. I quite enjoyed '94.
