Provisionals and guaranteed spots

NASCAR has always played with the rules. Some turned out good (I like the current scoring system) and some no so good (I don't like the top 35 rule). I do think it is good that they try things out, it would appear they do pay attention to what fans think - although we will argue about all changes (hehe). We'll see how this new one works out; I don't think it will really change anything.

For what it is worth, I never got to worked up over which type of provisional crap is being used call it 38 or 35. But if a multi million dollar driver and big supporting cast can't beat a poor team, his sorry butt isn't worthy to compete. If one stand alone lap is to delicate then add a last chance race.

But you should have to race for it, you don't hand out freebies when your claiming to be all about competition.
And the big corporate lard needs to understand the beauty of racing. Racing serves the fans interest first and integrity should be paramount. Nascar has comprised that worthy responsibility and pimped it out for money, and then they fine any unsubmissive driver that questions them. But it is hard to sympathize with fans wanting a degraded product, if real life drama with real winners and losers can't be defined even profound then why not just a watch a movie.

If this new rule allows me to watch practice or qualifying on Speed without Larry Mac using the phrase 'Go or Go Homers' I'll be a happy individual. ;)
Damn tootin DP, I didnt think of that, but thats why we have you.
