Quaker State 400 at Atlanta Motor Speedway Pre-Race Discussion

Probably because they know first hand how bad they are?
Funny that they were once considered the class of the series....This is a Pit Crew Coach leadership issue IMO. I hate everything about the pit road thing....from the lack of a pit lane rev limiter to the lack of an air jack....to the stupid "choreography-----which is dancing...****** dancing! Everybody ****ting themselves over the 9 second stop----It's a single lug! The game has completely changed---Who gives a **** about 9 second stops? Racing happens on the track--shouldn't be in pit lane. Single lug was an opportunity to re-think NASCAR's pit lane....but the industry didn't want to let go of the past. Stupid.

And Hamlin, Truex, and Kyle have enough tenure that they don't have to put up with that bullcrap?

At least move them around between the locked-in teams. Spread the love. Then leave them with whichever car doesn't make the show. :p
I kinda see it that way, dump it on Bell, he's the lowest on the JGR totem pole. MJ has some pull, he's all in with JGR, he might have squawked, I would. Wallace has had some fast cars, and you look at how far he came back to finish after some of these blunders, he's been racing his ass off.

Team sport, remember?

By the way, choreography isn't confined to dancing. Ask Jackie Chan.

I think we all have our opinions. I happen to think Nascar and the engineers are already working on the wheel problems, they can't just all of a sudden change at this point in the season. But referencing this bunch I doubt they could get 5 lugs right.

Just to be the first to spread a little sunshine (and I do mean 'little'),

I don't think there is a problem honestly. Get it tight. If you don't, and if falls off, park 'em. Make it so that the risk isn't worth the reward. Stop the four weeks for the crew chief and the team members. It's stupid.

Yeah the penalty doesn't fit the crime

The pit crew scapegoat thing pisses me off. Not sure that anybody in sport has gone from nothing to the best without some sort of screw up along the way. That is sport. That is why we watch. If we treated our drivers the way the pit crews get sold down the river, we wouldn't have anybody left on the grid. Where the hell did "...win as a team, lose as a team...." go? Bottom line....both crews will be fine. I'd recommend that Brian Haaland (the pit crew coach at JGR) adopt the Justin Marks philosophy of give me 11-12 second stops consistently and don't screw up in stead of the sexy 9 second stops.
What pisses you off? That it's happening? Or that people are pointing it out?

To me, looks like X rainout on Saturday and a doubleheader Sunday. Xfinity should be fine in the AM and Cup probably gets delayed to Sunday night a la Nashville. It's another long commute up to New Hampshire next weekend so they'll want to get it in if at all possible Sunday. Remember too, steep tracks dry faster and it's a new surface.

Well cool, NBC has a Nextgen car and its debuting tomorrow

Race starts at 3, just about the same time the storms will be getting there.

Green flag moved up to 3:03pm FYI!!!
Someone needs to have a come to Jesus talk with these broadcast partners about American summer weather. Just absurd to have any starts from Mothers Day-Labor Day later than 1 PM unless it's a night race. Rain out TV ratings have to be a far greater loss than a couple of points because it started at 1 PM
