RIP. I saw him as a kid along with, Harley Race, and Jack Brisco at different times defend their NWA world champion belts at the old Greenviille Memorial Auditorium. I also got see his brother Dory Funk , and Ric Flair as well but they weren't holding the belt at time. Ric Flair and many other big names wrestled a lot at Greenville on Monday nights, I saw them many times.
It was wrestling in the mid 70's, it wasnt quite the carnival shenanigans that it is today. A lot of the main events lasted 60 minutes or close to it.
Rest in peace Terry. It is sad when someone passes but if it is any consolation he outlived many in the same profession.
