Chupp captures pole for Southern All Stars ‘Fairway Ford 100’ at Volunteer

BULLS GAP, Tenn. (July 9) – The O’Reilly Southern All Star Racing Series competitors took to the high banks at Volunteer Speedway Friday night for qualifying and heat races to lock in the top-16 for Saturday night’s $10,000-to-win “Fairway Ford 100.” Randle Chupp of Troutman, N.C., set fast-time at 12.608-seconds and proceeded to win the first of four 12-lap heat races to capture the pole position. Newport, Tenn.’s Jimmy Owens raced to victory in the second heat to earn the outside front row starting berth. Skip Arp of Georgetown, Tenn., won the third heat and Senoia, Ga.’s Clint Smith raced to victory in the fourth heat.
Highlighting the Saturday, July 10 racing program will be the $10,000-to-win Fairway Ford 100 for the Southern All Star Super Late Models, plus UMP Modified and Hobby Stock features.
The pit gate will open at 4 p.m. on Saturday and the grandstand gate at 5 p.m. Adult grandstand admission will be $15, with pit admission and backside tier-parking $30.
