Random NASCAR Stuff to talk about.....

Why does it say Jeff under the General Motors sign? As in Jeff Gordon? :XXROFL: :XXROFL: :XXROFL:
Might as well ask why it's a Cadillac or why none of the partner stickers are legible or why the GM logo isn't current. I'd guess 'Jeff' is the first name of the person responsible.

'Don't ask why; AI.'

It flew over the heads a bit. The rights to race a Camaro expire this year. Guess what? They will have to race a different car. Soon, when the year gets closer to ending there will be questions and plenty of suggestions to GM about what car to choose to race in the series. There already has been so here at the forum.

Out of the choices I have seen so far, the Caddy looks like the best and easiest to convert over. Some models run the Corvette motor and are called a 4 door Vette by some.

Sounds like more potential Bold Prediction material.

I forgot to post these in the Count Down thread. I really feel the need to post them every year.

My favorite story (internet search) on Robbins that I first heard years ago from a friend that didn't give a lick about racing.

"One night we were running at the Fairgrounds and for some reason the main event was running awful late," Beverly said. "Marty was leading and it was late in the race when suddenly he pulled into the pits. He jumped out of the car and ran to his (personal) car and drove off. We later learned he knew he was due on stage at the Ryman Auditorium for the Grand Ole Opry about that time and that's where he was racing to.

"Dad wasn't too happy. There was only two laps left. Of course, Marty didn't realize that at the time."
