Rate Talladega 2

I'll give it a 6. The winner of the race is a 10, but as for the racing...I just wasn't a fan. There was side by side racing a bit throughout the race, but the last 10 laps when people usually make moves...it just got single file. Not too sure what that was about but it ruined the race for me.

I have raceview and there was a ton of racing to watch towards the back.

9 it was the best restrictor plate race in several years.

I'd give it a 5. The way ESPN ran a zillion commercials setting up for the big finish was understandable...but the announcers going on and on about the impending "Big One" became annoying. Then when everybody got single fle and it ended under caution we missed out on a fun finish.

I thought we were rating the race rather than the broadcast.

Fairly clean race, no manufactured drama (i.e. phantom debris caution at the end), and exciting run to the last lap. Leaving room for improvement though; after all, Jr. finished one place back from where he should've:

Good race, plenty of action with very little riding around, too many had an agenda. It didn't really shake up the standings like I thought it probably would, hate to see somebodies season completely taken out by somebodies mistake. 8

It was a decent race for a RP track. I don't like to see drivers hanging out in the back of the pack waiting till near the end of the race before they actually start racing, but I understand it's what you get when they go to these tracks, so it is what it is I guess.

There was decent racing for the lead with plenty of lead changes and multiple lines working going to the front, so that was good.

I was pretty sure Jr had the win when the bottom line never formed by the time they got the white flag. Too bad for the Jr nation.

It was a feel good win in McMurray with his little boy in V-lane, so that was good too. So glad he was able to fight back the tears. I get that drivers sometimes are overcome by emotion after a big win. But the last time McMurray cried in V-lane he cried like a woman, and I didn't want to see that again.

I give the race a 7. Glad the wild card race is over.

7.5. Great racing but the last 10 laps being ran single file and then ending under caution definitely makes the rating drop a couple points

Ditto.

I'm sorta torn on the caution being thrown, though.
I get it. Safety first. No one knew if Dillon or Mears (especially) was badly hurt.
But the wreck was on the backstretch and cars would have been slowed down after taking the checkers on this 2.66 mile track.
Not suggesting any changes. It was just the respectful thing to do, particularly after it took Mears some time to take his netting down.

It is what it is.

I thought it was a good race for Talladega. Had timing and scoring up on the laptop. I watched my guy work his way up through the field a few times. I listened to his in-car audio, watched his roof-top mounted camera on Race Buddy & had the network feed on the big screen. Not one commercial had to be viewed. I enjoyed the race from start to finish.

Sometimes I wonder if I'm tuning in to the same race that you all are watching. o_O

I'd find it difficult to believe that anyone would question that caution if I didn't know who was in 2nd.

I thought it was a good race.

Gotta say 8.. great racing. Not just wrecking. And to all you "fans" that thought that was boring.. take up soccer, they only pretend to get hurt.

Also to the people that thought there should not have been a yellow thrown on the last lap. Stop watching.. you're not a real fan... we'll let you know next time someone wrecks so u can watch the replay and save yourself from all the "boring" racing.

You get a total different view of the racing with all that. I only saw a few laps, maybe 40 or so, but what I could tell from ESPNs' broadcast, it didn't look too bad. It looked like they were able to pass, there didn't seem to be any of that silly Tandem stuff, so for a plate race, which I'm not fond of in the first place, I thought it was pretty good racing.

I'm right around 7.5 to 8. Didn't like the single file stuff at the end, and hated to see the wreck on the last lap, would have been fun to see what was going to happen. But the drivers did do a good job for the most part the whole race. It seems like these cars are more affected by the air in certain situations than cars of the past.

Race: 6, racing was great, finish sucked. Pretty much the oposite of the usual.

Winner: 9, go Jamie Mac!

ESPN: 3, too many commercials, and it was funny how they were talking about the big one but it never happened.

I thought it was a pretty good race. I was expecting a run from a second group for the finish but that didn't happen. Maybe they were satisfied with an intact car and what ever points they could get. I thought it was cool that there were only 2 chase drivers in the top 10 near the end of the race.

Espn carried on about the "big one" like it was an integral part of the race and was going to happen no matter what. I hope they were disappointed when it didnt happen. Seems like the Cup drivers must have watched the truck race and decided to settle for a decent finish rather than a full field pileup. Drivers really do behave differently in chase races.
