Rate the 56th Daytona 500

9.5, -.5 for the rain delay. But 9.5 because it finished in time for me to watch Walking Dead after. :p

But seriously this is healthy for NASCAR for Dale Jr. to win a race.

I can picture it now, a rope attached to Danica's driver side panel tied to the middle of the track, that way she can stay in one place while doing the loop.

IMHO the race wasnt very good before the rain delay. After that it was much more like the racing that I used to love at the super speedways. I know some drivers were laying back and all that and maybe that was the culprit as much as anything, but an entire race like the first 38 laps would've been hard to watch. Once they came back though, it was a great race.
 
A solid 9, especially for a rp track. Usually would not have stayed up but made it to the end last night with a big grin as Jr won

They were racing like that do to the fact they thought rain was coming again, also these cars run better at night there, when the track is cooler and all.
 
It was a pretty good race. Seeing Jr smiling and waving to fans on his way to collect the flag was genuine. I was wondering how long the wavering leader deal would last. Biffle looked like he could stay out in front until Edwards got motivated and that seemed to open up everything. Dillon caused two wrecks and still got a good finish - he is one lucky rookie. I felt bad for Kahne; busted for speeding instead of wrecking, rules are rules but I think NASCAR should have looked the other way on that one. The top finishers looked unhappy during their interviews, they all thought they had a chance, if only...
 
Solid 8. Not a big fan of plate racing but I enjoyed the Daytona 500. Not a Jr fan either but I'm glad he got that win.
 
9 Congrats to Jr. on the win.

It was the rain that made this race. If the drivers had known they had the full race to run it would have been very different.

9 it was good to see both Jimmy and Dale Jr in victory lane yesterday. Lol

If these drivers raced as hard as they did after the rain delay during every restrictor plate race, I would definitely be more of a fan of restrictor plate racing. Minus the silly wrecks, that was one of the best races I've seen in a long time, and that's without even considering the fact that my man Junior won it.
 
Great race. The rain delay detracted from it though, and like expected nothing happened during the 30 or so laps prerain delay. 8/10.
 
Not a fan of pack racing, so I really can't give a positive rating.
I did, however, like seeing Jr. get the win.
 
I give the racing a 9, but was it just me or could they have taken advantage of the rain delay to talk to somebody? Drivers, crew chiefs, anybody. I know they had a lot of time to fill, but they could have used at least a little of it to get some inside information. Maybe they did, and it was sandwiched in between parts of last years 500 which I mostly ignored and fast forwarded through. And why can't they show something older than the last years race?
