Rate The Cup Bristol Night Race

9.0. Bristol with two viable grooves usually produces great short track racing, and this was a prime example of that. The PJ1/Track Bite has been very good for Bristol racing. This one was very intense from green to checkers, with a large number of fast cars/drivers contending at the front. Good stuff!

As I posted in the pre-race thread, I'm not in favor of adding a bunch of short tracks. I enjoy the six races we have, enjoy the change-of-pace, but six is enough for me.

10...probably the "lamest" finish I've ever given a race that was a 10...just such good racing all night it didn't matter.

10 even before Kurt made Bowyer his b***h on the last restarts. Great racing all night, multiple leaders, close finishes in the stages.

10.0!! Only the second time in recent years I've given a race, any race, a 10. How could you not? It was three lane passing, crowding, aggressive driving and fighting for every position by everyone, not just the guys up front. Short track is where it's at.

9. Only complaint I have is the inside lane of double file restarts being at a ridiculous disadvantage. For the first time in years, this felt “like Bristol.”

I’ll go 9.

The racing through the stages was outstanding. Got a little stretched from 250 to 400 - then some really cool stuff going on down the stretch. Nobody had anything for the 41 in the closing laps, that would have boosted it up to a 10.

9.99. And I'd had to hunt a reason to deny it a 10. I've been hearing for years a longing for the " good ol days". If a stock car racing fan didn't enjoy that, then they cannot possibly be pleased. That was a fantastic race. Beating and banging short track action at it's best. Kudos to NASCAR, y'all put on a dandy show at Bristol.

It was a 10 only because the 18 didn’t win. Cheap shot he took on the 78.

In my day, that was called racing and while opinions may vary, I doubt Kyle did it intentionally. He took responsibility, says he misjudged, a very believable response when racing that close. Kyle's deportment while giving interviews or making mocking gestures to fans who boo him obviously over ride the fact the guy gets the job done. He is a modern day wheel man, a reincarnation, a throw-back to the 1960's and '70's hard nose drivers of that era. Love him or hate him, he's the real deal and in this instance, I don't think wrecking Truex was intentional. Just good old fashioned hard racing.

9 ..... watching the 18 fight his way back to the front with a twisted pile of crap car was quite a show, he nearly won the deal.

8.5...still not enough passing through out the race. Got better at the end. Stage racing sucks...playoff system sucks even more. Still one of the better races of the year.

9.5
I didn't get to watch the race before yesterday, but this was exactly what short track racing is supposed to be.
Great racing all the time, at least 10 drivers had a shot to win the race.
And it was actually fun to see Kyle Busch coming through the field with his damaged car. I don't think anyone could've beaten him if he didn't spin out at the end.
