Rate The Cup Race: Homestead, Season Finale.

8.5. The track has great tire wear, closing speeds and drivers pursue different grooves based on their strengths, all great stuff.
Would have went with a 9.0 if there had been a few less cautions.

Plus a Gozillian points for seeing JGR struggle the whole race.

8. I've seen better racing at Homestead-Miami before, but it was still decent racing. Need to have a top 2 or 10 race format instead of this final 4.

And I know the final four are the best of the best and I know the other 36 guys out there are gonna be super cautious around them but NO ONE could touch those cars all race. Man...hard to say if the fix is in or not...this sh!t generally doesn't bother/concern me but those 4 SMOKED the rest of the field.

Kyle Larson had said before the race that even though he wasn't running for the championship he was going to try to win the race and he was giving them a pretty good run for their money until the wall got in his way.

The broadcast gets a 10 because I did not have to listen to the Screamers on NBC :bounce: I listened to Diffey and Jarrett on NBCSN!!!!! :headbang:

Thank goodness...retire already.
 
6.5 may have been better/worse but cannot tell from the broadcast, only seen the top 5 all race, don’t know how the mid pack battles went.

I love how Homestead drives and how the tires wear. Lots of complaining on the Twitter but I saw plenty of lead changes out there. Hopefully this track doesn’t race too differently next year.
 
7 It came down to a final restart and Joey blasting by Truex but I still cannot get over how the final 4 were so close the whole race.It just seemed too weird.

I think that is wishful thinking. With 550 HP and a ton more downforce and drag, it has got to be very different next year. Homestead doesn't get the front wheelwell aero ducts, but it has all the other 'enhancements' that boost downforce and drag, right?
