Rate The Cup Race: Pocono I

Just got home from the race. I give it a 4 for weather (cold and windy) but it didn't rain, so a 4 instead of a 0. Took the family and one of my son's friends so 10 for experience and fun. Race itself, I could go 7. I have a good time no matter how exciting or competitive the race is.

For those of you on the fan counsel, don't forget to let them know that we don't need restrictor plates!
Amen to that! My rating is 9.5. Outstanding race with speed, strategy, and suspense. Pocono is very challenging and rewards superior skills and execution... that's important to me. And we got an epic battle between three teams currently in top form (#4, #18, #78) plus another trying to join them (the #42). Plus hard-fought scrappy performances by several others to finish in the top 10. Clean air was a benefit, but if one car was faster than another, it could pass and did pass.

David Ragan in 16th raised my eyebrows. :growl:

I'll give it a solid 7 from section 206.

It came down to the 3 best cars and some great restarts by the 78. I think if the 18 or 4 started alongside of the 78 the finish would have been more interesting. The 42 was just good enough to stand between them during the short runs.

Despite clean air being important the draft is still very much a factor at Pocono.

7.75. Good racing. Like the different three turns and how it makes it as much a driver track as setup track. Watching Kyle Larson go three wide in the tunnel turn had everyone holding their breath. A non-photo finish but a lot going on behind the leaders.
