7. I agree with Jeff Gordon that the 41 and 4 needed to drop back a few yards to hang the 22 out to dry and create a run on him. IDK why they didn't do that. Passing was very difficult all day. It almost seemed like the smaller plate left the cars with not enough HP to generate a run... but frankly I doubt the 12-15 HP lost was the reason...?

I disagree with Chase Elliott that no one wanted to win except the 22 and the 9. That is a ridiculous conclusion, but it sure was hard to pass. And the 22 was strong, can't deny that.
 
5 put a ******* spoiler on these things at plate tracks it'll give the car behind a chance to suck up to the back bumper.
 
I think the drivers were trying to avoid contact (probably due to the air intake location for this race - took bump drafting away). Passing looked hard. When I saw the 48 incident I was wondering why more of that hadn't happened.

6 rounds of wedge on both sides of the 4 took away what the pole winning car had.
 
7.5, meh, but a 10 for the 22 winning. I was on pins and needles for those last 5 laps.
 
I missed the race and haven't watched it yet but the opinions I've read here and elsewhere make me curious as to the big disparity in how people rate the race. Seems that most are disappointed that the Fords weren't willing to make any moves at the end have based their negative reviews on that aspect alone.

Why not take any chances? He's locked into the playoffs. Why run 3rd?
 
I love all the comments about drivers not wanting to win, not taking chances, etc. I wish I had the access to these drivers that some of y'all seem to have, so that I too could learn what was going on in their heads.

Why? nobody around to pull out with. Some people don't realize that if the opportunity isn't there, it is a fool hardy move. I don't know about you or anybody else bemoaning the race, but all day long I watched cars pull out of line and end up 20 places back. Stenhouse did it in the first 5 laps and it didn't change. I watched four wide racing, but the fast line would form with the Fords, and it was lights out unless everybody else got in two or one line. It was what it was. Next time could be completely different. The Penske's sandbagged IMO all thru the practices and even in the quals. Suprise Suprise Suprise in my best Gomer Pile voice. Penske cars have won 6 out of 8 of the last Dega races...not a peep from the talking heads that were obsessed with KDB winning 4 in a row..smh.
 
5. And I usually love plate racing. Nobody could handle their cars and so nobody had the balls to make the moves to win. Plus team loyalty got taken to the extreme.
 
Harvick's car sucked in traffic. Said he was great when out front but whenever he was behind someone it was too tight.

I like plate racing but this one was boring. Too much riding around in single file because apparently the cars were too squirelly.
