100 out of 10!!!

BEST RACE OF THE ENTIRE 2013 SEASON!

100
Best of the race of the year in all three of the top divisions. California had the best finish, but Eldora lap for lap far better.

9.89
I was very pleasantly surprised that there were so few cautions and only 1 wreck. Tonight was a great night for NASCAR. I'm glad I let my kid stay up late to watch it with me.

No numbers, but a great race for second place, and really impressed by the popularity. Especially the attention and love for local short tracks. Makes me wish even more that NNS would run at IRP (I know, hard to break the habit) instead of at the big track this weekend.

I should add that I expected this to be a wreckfest, and am very happy it wasn't. Overall, it was a better race than I imagined.
Same here. I tuned in just to see how it would go, and I enjoyed it.

I liked how the stands took part in the command to start engines. They need to do that again, but not have a leader- have the stands do it exclusively.

Easily a 10.

Easy 10! This is the best race I have seen since 1995 when the truck series started at Saugus!

Great race, 9/10 just because of the anti-climactic finish. Great race, clean race. I'm ready to start a campaign to destroy asphalt. Seriously though, everyone involved outdid themselves. Especially JWT.

It's a good night to be a Motorsports fan.

10 for sure.

I really expected either a "granny race" since the only real setup change was the tires...or a crash fest.

I was very impressed with the DRIVERS. They managed to put a little "slide" on those trucks and were all over the track.

OK - I'll say 11.5 :) (maximum amount of bonus points allowed by me on my personal truck race rating scale)

+0.5 for venue excitement...+0.5 for Kenny Schrader on the Pole....+0.5 for having the race on a Wednesday night.

9. I only give it a 9 because the bottom groove was just not sustainable. Great battles, the top 3 were great, slide jobs, beating and banging.. What racing should be about.

10

Couldn't help getting that deja vu feeling all over again from those Thursday Night Thunder days.
Loved the heat racing format that pretty much lets the cream rise to the top.

Congrats to Dillon, but I thought that kid Kyle Larson was gonna catch him. Man, what a talent - just going for it - not caring about trading paint with a Sprint Cup regular.

After tonight, I got my fingers crossed I live to see the big boys on this track.
Call me crazy, but maybe we just witnessed an appetizer for things to come.

Fun racing.. I give it a 9... Nice to see NASCAR go back to its roots

10. Its one of the only right things that NASCAR has done in the last year. Very good race to watch.

Dang, I really wished I could have seen this race but couldn't find a stream. Sounds like it was a great night of racing, hopefully they do more in the future!

Glad to see the fans at home finally saw the same race I saw at the track. Rating the race goes without saying from this fan. I'm left only being able to rate the 'at track' cell service. That was a big fat zero by the way. I'll post some pics and stories about our experiences when we get home.

I don't consider myself a dirt track expert, but was anyone else a little disappointed? I am not saying the experience was horrible, but I guess I expected more? I felt the racing was a little more tamer than some other half mile asphalt tracks. The track seemed to be only one real groove, and felt the drivers were playing it safe all night. Like I said, great race just expected more I guess.

I give it a 10. Now that they've done it and its been raced I can only imagine the notebooks headed back to charolte to build a purpose built dirt truck for next year. Id like to see em ****pit the inside and take the whidshield out and put window bars in. Be cool to see em actually throwing some mud. But Tony did great getting the track perfect for what these trucks needed for the way they came this year.

Really?! Wow! I consider myself the biggest cheerleader for dirt track racing, and even though I went in very skeptical, I came away more than happy. Did you miss the four wides, the number of cars that dropped as low as possible? Did you miss the fact that Austin started 19th and won the race? Not sure what more you could have been expecting? More crashes? Fights?

It was nice to finally put a face with a name.

I have the same cell issues every time I am at Eldora. My Verizon phone was on roam and went dead before any of the racing started. You have to remember that there were 20K+ fans in a field that normally has about fifty people within a 5 mile radius.

Why is it that if you question the racing product on this forum people automatically think you want wrecks. Seriously? Did I say the racing was horrible? No, I said it was a great race, but expected/wanted more. There was 3 and 4 wide racing in the back of the pack and some dive bombs. However it seemed like most of the dive bombs at the bottom got the driver no where. Also all that great side by side racing and beating and banging for 2nd would have been nice if it was for the lead. That is all that I ask for is some great battling for the lead. Just seemed like the same ole story for this year. More battles for 2nd than 1st going on and last night was not different.

This. I'm sure some will cry foul, or that I'm complaining...or I just hate Austin...or dirt...

Perfect would have been all we saw + a second groove and a bigger cushion of LOOSE dirt up top and on the bottom. It was a bit lame watching drivers get victimized by restarting on the inside and having no real options to make a clean move.

Well, if you read what I wrote, you should figure out that I wasn't assuming anything, was just asking what you wanted more of. Maybe it's just me, but if you didn't leave that race completely happy (and in your case "wanting more), then I feel for you. Like I said, I am probably the biggest dirt fanatic here, and was more than happy with this race. Really not sure how it could have been much better.

Topless flag girl and naked mud wrestling beauties between segments would be my suggestion.
