RATE THE RACE: Boring Dover

BUT NASCAR'S BORING IT'S JUST CARS GOING IN CIRCLES FOR 4 HOURS

Oh wait, that's what we're supposed to hear from non-fans.
I have to believe it's just people tired of JJ. I only got to watch the last 180 or so laps but I didn't see anything that made it so much worse than the most of the other races we've seen this year. :idunno:

I can't believe how many of you didn't like it. I'd give it an 8. Decent racing. Enough Green flag runs and enough cautions to bottle up the field. Jimmie was just great on restarts, I said in the race thread Kenseth would try to "Montoya" Jimmie and he did only to result in letting Jimmie take off. If their was another GWC or more laps we might of had a good race between the 2 and 48 to the finish.

Yall gotta admit that the Kyle/Clint chase was pretty entertaining. As for Jimmie running away with it well that's to be expected. Of course Dover's nothing like my Bowman Gray Stadium. #1 Burt Myers Spinning #69 Jr. Miller for the win on the final turn; then having them face off right in front of you nose to nose! NOW THAT'S EXCITEMENT

It's exciting, but it isn't racing. It's just some WWE style melodrama.

A Johnson win as expected but none the less another good race @ Dover. My driver ran great most of the day but struggled at the end. Still pulled off a top 10 so not too bad.

I thought it was an enjoyable race with some of the drama and interesting pit stragedies. Dover always has one or two of those long runs. I still give it an 8.

And y'all yuppies can go watch your single file green flag millionaires race instead. I'm no fan of WWE but I am a strong believe in the theory of rubbin's racin' And aren't you the "build more short tracks" advocate I feel like that would be right up your alley

Rubbing is racing. The deliberate dumping every race is not. Tracks like Bowman Gray tarnish the image of short track racing and short track racing fans.

We don't have to have fights every week and the deliberate dumping of Taylor Robbins and the "wrecking is racing" every week. If we do, I want no part of it. Hate is good. Emotion is good. But there becomes a point when people need to get back to racing. BGS drivers want to tear up thousands of dollars of equipment each race, so be it.

And BGS doesn't need that stuff to fill the stands - being in the of the second largest metropolis in the tri-state region, they'll pack the stands every single race no matter what.

I'm glad they have Dover because it is different. With Johnson dominating the race, the coverage was forced to follow other races within the race (I liked that). They didn't seem to mention Stewart until he got to 5th (at least that was when I noticed they talked about him), I would have liked to see him and others run through the field (I guess that's why you have to attend races). The coverage they gave Kez saving fuel was interesting, it didn't occur to me that saving fuel starts long before the need.

10 any race you are at in person is perfect.
0 Kenny Francis pit calls, you turned a top 10 car into one that finished 19th a lap down in 50 laps.

4 because Kyle went out and JJ won.

You're right. It's "Rubbin' is racin'", not "wreckin' is racin'". Whats so exciting about watching a guy dump someone on the last lap each week? Wheres the skill in that? If you're racing hard, and the guy spins, hey, thats racin, not just putting a bumper to him and turning him around. BGS is becoming a dang circus. Thats a shame considering tge tracks history.

We almost got a gwc since Kurt Busch was half sideways off 4 with 2 to go

Race: 3/10. Dover: Always boring, all the time.
Winner: 0
Cassadee Pope:wub: 10 :growl:

If there was a way to get a second groove going like they have done at Bristol it would sure improve the racing. More side by side is always better.
It was a 10 out of 10, but, I will always say that. A track like this really shows the talent of the teams. I am not a Johnson fan at all, but, he paddled that behind Sunday. My man Mat held his own and Larson did well as well.

A 4 only saved by Bush hitting the wall and having a hissy fit, no real excitement but a race day is always good.

I believe Dale Earnhardt did that on multiple occasions and no one would say he's untalented. You do what you can to win NO MATTER WHAT the boys there just don't give a damn for second place.

Big difference between doing it every week and on occassion. If Sr did it week in and week out, he would have been called an untalented hack. Again, there is no skill involved in wrecking someone in a turn. Tells those boys to sack up and actually race. BGS isn't suppossed to be a demolition derby ring.

Well, yeah, because he was obviously very talented. The fact that he dumped people all the time has nothing to do with his talent level, though.

If there is no room there will be wrecks its a quarter mile running track

There's just not a lot of room there aint really any other way to pass besides a nice bump the surface used to be a running track for god's sake its like putting jet planes in a gymnasium when the mods are there but hey to each his own

Lol. I go to plenty of local short tracks. Amazing how they find ways to win there without turning them. Same amount of room as BGS. A nice buump just gets them loose and moves them, not wrecks them, but like you said to each his own.
