RATE THE RACE: Bristol I

Oops, trying to figure out how to reply. I give today's race a 9. Would have been a 10 if Smoke were in the mix...
Great job ,14smoke ..welcome to the forum . Glad you enjoyed the race . Many of us don't get to a lot of races due to time and cost , so comments from folks who actually attended are fun to hear.l

The race was so good today I just competed my order of two tickets to the August night race!! Last time I went to Bristol was the first race of the new surface.

Am trying to figure out how to get to truck race at Eldora in July. Flights in/out of area already $450+ from Seattle. Oh well, have ticket. Will get there somehow.

That actually sounds pretty reasonable. Fort Wayne, Indianapolis and Columbus will be about your only choices for flights. Eldora isn't really close to anything.

I give the race a compositized score of 9.338
Broken down:
4.269 points for race quality.
-1 point for no genuine trophy queens.
1 point bonus for two drivers that at least pretend to fight warrants the extry point.
0.069 bonus point for some simmering hate and contempt. It may be just tootie frutie nastiness, were
Denny gave Joey a merciless tweet whipping, but it is still an effort.
5 points for noboby talking mean about the gen6 (my spontaneous intimate thoughts posted below about Genny6)

The race itself delivered by the immaculuated Gen6 conceptionalims of Nascar, has rendered the transcendence that the racing world has been praying for, thanks to Brian and staff.
Any degenerate excreta-ures that doesnt love the Gen6 just needs to die, or pay $25, 000.

15 for 15 career victories for kasey. Plus it makes up for the time he led 305 laps but lost because of a 3 lap down waltrip

Don't do it man, don't do it. :p

There you are!
What's up, VaDirt!

Ok - this time around, the first I heard "slide job" was lap 69 by Larry Mac and you were probably shaking your head like I was. If it was said earlier, then I just plain missed it. From then on, both Larry and Darrell used it numerous times.

I just might have to make a drinking game out of it for next year's race. Or, for the next Bristol night race, post an over/under thread starting at lap 69. I know the race is being broadcast on ABC, but Dale Jarrett is fond of the "slide job" term, as well.

I'm going under.

Wow! I don't think I've ever seen a race rated as highly as this one  Unfortunately I only caught the last 40 laps

You should continue your pattern of rating these races the way you did in the first few races.
If you do, I'd be really surprised to see you rate a race a 10 this year.

I think a 9 is good, pretty good racing, just wish that bottom grove was a little better.

If the weather cooperates for the fall race with all the rubber on the track starting Wed. with the trucks all the way until the cup race the bottom may come in a lot better, but maybe thats just wishful thinking.

I give it a 9. Lots of action all over the track. Not the Bristol of old, but definitely entertaining.

I give the race a 40.

As long as there are two grooves, I don't care which ones they are. We had actual 3-wide in the corners a couple of times. Good enough for me.
